Stereoheroes have a new ep since a week, and it is a quite awesome one! Once again, we have disappointed you, readers of this blog. More than 2 weeks without a post, it seems that a week with a post is more exception than rule nowadays... I apologize for the 1000th time, but I fear that things won't start to get better soon. After a small week where everyone in the electro scene, ranging from dyslectic youngsters originating from country's I didn't even knew they existed to very big guns like The Proxy, was worried about what Gtronic would do, he yesterday revealed his teaser clip that shows his new image.
It's a dark, creepy, and kinda horror like videoclip, and I hope that the soundtrack isn't representative for his new sound... I think it's totally not danceable, but I have in fact good reasons to believe that his first new tunes will be pretty awesome - because I heard them already at the party when I did my interview with him. So the "music" in the clip is just a way to create a creepy atmosphere, and I must say that it does the job right.

No, actually, I tried to make it sound more crunchy, more special, more mysterious. I'm trying to explore my boundaries to achieve that perfect sound. With the new sound comes a new image, which you will all be able to see in the new video clip. It's more raw, more heavy, maybe even a bit shocking. I guess you will be able to see it for yourself when the clip comes out!

The clip is out now, and all the things he said about his image are true, now we only have to wait until he brings out his dance machines...

Laptops that are broke down suck, that's for sure... After more than a week of being cut off from the electro scene, I needed some time to recover and to get back up to date in the fast moving electro world. I'm not sure that I have completed that job, but I will just give you a few songs that I liked from my internet search from the last few days.

The first one is Cabala from Cyberpunkers (I'm pretty sure a lot of you will have this already), a song that's perfect for the festivals and big open air shows. It has that signature Cyberpunkers feeling, ravey sounds all over... I'm getting kinda bored of it in a lot of their songs, but this one is just that little bit more diverse, which is why I like it so much!

The second one is a hard and dark Clouds remix, this would a perfect track for the smaller, more underground electro party's - like rock me on electro. Grinding, brutal,... it has everything you need! It's released on Fake Blood's Blood music.

And for all those who went completely nuts when they saw Gtronic's facebook post that he would stop - he had announced it already in our interview, but it was unpredictable that he would do it so drastically. After a long period of what appeared to be lazyness, but in fact was a week of holidays and a week of working to make sure that the holiday week didn't had catastrophical consequences for his grades, your beloved Turtle Tosser is back in business. Unfortunately, his laptop is kinda fucked up (writing this post is a hell for him), and it has to go the shop for repairs...

Because even The Almighty Turtle Tosser can't know when the repair dudes will be ready with the fixing of his laptop, posts in the near future from his hand are very uncertain... But He (The Almighty) feels that the time for him to stop talking in third person, and come down to earth to talk music, is almost there... Almost...

For all the people who thought: what a fucking long intro is that? You're absolutely right, I (notice the switch to first person perspective) just felt like talking some nonsense (although the laptop story is true) after such a long time of absence :).

Now let's get to the music, I have 1 super awesome Ep for you guys, by a project called Kaze. I can't find much info about it, only that it is a solo project by one of the guys behind VOID CAMP and that he is a resident dj in a lot of clubs in Madrid. It's heavy, ravey, dark, aggressive, wild electro music, which would fit perfectly next to some of Haezer's stuff - although this sounds a bit more mechanic than the anarchy sounds from the South African.

The Ep I'm talking about is the superloser EP, from which the second track is my favorite. I heard it for the first time in the mix cd for Tuff Em Up records by Nadisko and Gtronic. I have been looking for it for a few months, than completely forgot about it, and 2 days ago it popped up in my head again. It appeared that the 2 tracks are a free give away! So go and grab em!

The boys from Vecho made some very tasty remixes once more, very heavy and trashy, as it should be. Amazing that those tracks are all made by a dude who only just turned 18, Jarno van der veken. I basically like everything they pump out, but these 2 are just that bit extra awesome... It's hard to explain why, so why don't you just listen?

The original is a big fat bomb already, this remix just skips the easy going part, and makes the hard part even harder. Sweet.

The Amsterdam based underground label Basserk, will be releasing a new ep in the very near future, on the 9th of march to be precise. It will be the first time the 2 boys from Crunkd, aka Hernàn and Ambrogi and Gianni Marino, will show their producing skills to the world.

I am a big fan of the original "Gangster", and the Klipar remix is pretty awesome too. The original is a crazy, a bit trashy electro tune, that combines the effectiveness of a big bass with a very simple vocal, and some rave elements. Big tune, and I am allowed to share this beaty with you guys, so grab that chance!

Gtronic Interview

I made some fuzz about the latest edition of rock me on electro a few weeks ago, and even though Trumpdisco cancelled their whole euro tour, and they were replaced by Mightyfools. Those dutchies did a pretty good job, but nothing could really compensate the loss of all the ear-rape Trumpdisco would have brought to Belgium. But anyway, Gtronic, Redial and the aforementioned Mightyfools where all pretty awesome, with Gtronic being the undisputed king of the night.

I suppose you already read the title of this post, so I will not tease you any longer.

You just got back from your first tour in the USA, what was it like?

Well, it was great actually. I played in San Fransisco and Los Angeles, and even though it felt like there wasn't any hard electro known there, they really were a great public. The kids there are actually more open for it.

If you had to choose, what is your favourite country to play in?

Well, I've said it before, and it's still true: Australia. The people there go absolutely crazy, and I've tried a lot of crazy stuff there myself, like crowdsurfing in a rubber boat.

You told me that there is a new EP coming, when will we be able to listen to it?

Well, the EP is finished (during his set he played the 2 originals from the new EP, the one with the "I need... to make... people... dance... NO! I'm a dance machine!" is already my favourite tune of the new year), it will consist out of 2 originals + remixes, and it will be released in approximately a month and a half on lektroluv records. There is not yet a preview available, I'm sorry for that :).

Your sound stayed the same?

Me, Gtronic, and another fan.

In other, rather old interviews you said that you didn't liked to make mixtapes, and that you'd rather invested your time in making tracks and remixes. But in the past few years you did make a couple of mixtapes, one for Omgitm, and 1 for the trashbags compilation (the First Blood cd, I gave 2 of them away as a gift for our first anniversary). What did they gave you to bribe you?

Haha, they didn't bribe me or something like that, but I just feel like making a mixtapes is a lot of work for not much result, which is why I don't make a lot of them. And if I do, I really want them to have a purpose. That Omgitm mix was originally made for my manager, who wanted to send it to club promoters. And I could use it for Omgitm too, so that's how that mix was born. And the First Blood mix was actually a sign of my appreciation for Trashbags' continuous support, they always make sure that I have great tours in Australia, and they made the awesome Iron Man t-shirts.

Do you have some artists that we should keep an eye on?

No man, I actually have no time anymore to go all around the net searching through blogs for new stuff, wo I can't help you with that :)! I used to do that, but then all the touring began, and I had to stop because I had a lack of time. But I can tell you that I really like the new Sound of Stereo track, Hurricane, and that I visited the Dim Mak office, from where I got the info that Felix Cartal is working on a new EP. I'm pretty sure it will be awesome.

Your new remix for The Subs "the face of the planet" is kinda epic, can you tell me something about it?

Yeah, I actually have a story to tell about this track. I first made the remix with only one vocal sample, and then I sent it to The Subs. But because I only had one vocal sample, it sounded kinda repetitive, so they decided to sing the vocals again, with more variation. It's a lot better now! (check this remix in orz's latest post)

What's a perfect party for you?

That's an easy one... Lots of booze, lots of hot girls, and a bit of crowdsurfing when I feel like too.

When I asked him after his set what it was like, he agreed that it was a great show!

Any favourite songs of the moment?

eerrrm, let's say Fuck the system from Cyberpunkers. I like a lot of them, they're my favourite producers!

And the last question, what's your favourite drink?

As you can see, I'm actually drinking it right now: Whiskey-Sprite!

It has been a really long time since I posted some stuff here, but that's apparently not something to worry about. The reinforced ratrabbits blog team is doing a pretty good job, so a bit of laziness from the chief isn't such a big deal anymore.

But anyway, here are a few songs and video's that I digged, hope you'll like em :)!

We start with the clip for Felix Cartal's newest single "World Class Driver". Musically, I like the Harvard Bass remix more (it just sounds so nasty on a big system), but the clip for the original is so fucked up and weird that you'll start to rethink your opinion about it.

Next, we have a few releases from BMKLTSCH records, and as always: the quality is exceptional, with a wide array of styles, ranging from electro hip-hop to big basses and grinding synths.

The first release I want to put in the spotlights here, is one from Skip & Die, the "Muti Murder" EP. The track that caught the trophy for "best track of the ep" is the Starski remix, it has a great build up, and a sound that in one way or another makes me long for the festival season...

If you're a fan of electro hip-hop, you should definitely check out "Get your braai on", it reminded me of the party it was when Buraka Som Sistema played at the festivals...

Enough Weapons are a huge favourite of us, South African electro lovers..
They'v had a lot of gigs recently and make our crowds go crazy. This duo travels around the world, mainly hitting Europe and South Africa although they have been to the states. They use a whole bunch of equipment ranging from Kaos pads to Nordlead 3 and some other unknown secret weapons which will make you crave for more.
These guys produce some of the best electro, dub and break beats. Both guys in this duo have had a lot of D.Jing experience beforehand, now when put together they are amazing...

In 2010 they had lots of gigs and brought out many new tracks but now its 2011 and we should appreciate their tunes.

The Eleven from the Netherlands is a relative young producer, but his tunes already gained support from Dj's like Dem Slackers, Riptide, Screendeath,... Here's a preview of their new track called Kraft. When I heard it the first time, I heard elements that they were allready using in their first production and I heard some really fresh stuff. The combination made me fall in love.

La Musique D'Ordinateur (LMDO) are a group who have inspired me in the first time I have heard their production.
This sweet little group in ascension emerge from two guys, who have musical influences from Electro, Metal, PUNK, Dubstep, all together made LMDO.
Their strong is headbanger music, they made some pretty cool remix of Slipknot, Metallica, Bring me the Horizon, Linkin Park... and more.
They are from Spain and really, they are here to stay with their music.

Mental Groove records, the label from French electro god Don Rimini, released an absolutely amazing compilation about a week ago. It contains a bunch of old tracks (or at least some of them are already relaay old), that for some reason never got released. Things from Ado, Modek and Blatta & Inesha feat Edu K stand proudly next to stuff from artists that I had never heard from before this release, like Tagteam Terror, TiTan & Scuolo Furano and The Town.

All of the tracks on this release are pure gold, it's a real shame that no one released them earlier... I recommend you run to your record farmer as soon as you've finished reading this, or just be lazy and click on the beatport link I included below, because I know that you all like to be lazy.

To make your hand go to your wallet even faster, I have permission to share one of the tracks of the release for free. It just so happens to be one of my favorites, Pancadao Supersonico from Blatta & Inesha feat. Edu K. I have been craving for this track since the very first time I heard it, which was most likely in their own Omgitm mix from more than a year ago. The bassline just goes so well with the vocals, this track is an absolute dream!

Nadisko will be releasing a new Ep on tuff em up records in March, and they've put a teaser online. My favorite tunes are "Ringer" and "Extortion". Ringer is a very happy tune, which will surely make you jump and long for the festival season. Extortion is rather the opposite, this sounds like it came from Haezer's cave when he had a really bad temper and wanted to make something extra violent...

After the heart stopping announcements of my last post, it would be wise to calm down and post some relaxing stuff. So that's what I did...

F2u will be releasing an EP on Bonds records on the 17th of februari, it will consist out of 2 original tracks (I hyped the videoclip for one of them in september already, check that post here) Bad Mad Man and Virus. I'm not allowed to post those originals, but there are some remixes ready from producers who don't want their stuff to be released. Weird, but I won't complain, because that means I can freely share them!

I got to admit something...I'm in love with Will Bailey's soundcloud page. Almost every week he uploads new tracks and almost all of them sound fresh as hell. So I recommend you to go check it out and have multiple eargasms. You don't have enough time to check them all? Well I'll give you my personal favorites.

This one is uploaded about 5 hours ago. It's not what you would expect from Will Bailey, but I'm really into this one. In my opinion this is a song that tells the story of electro, where it comes from and where it is right know. Having some familiar sounding synths next to some fresh sounds.

I got confused on this one. His songs all sound so professional, but when I check his facebookpage I see that he only has 56 fans. So yeah you'll be thinking, he probably just started up the page. It's been a decent time since the latest installment in this series, but due to all the christmas gifts I get thrown from everywhere, I have a bunch of tracks that really need some attention.

I'll start with a new bootleg from Horse, a guy from Australia, known throughout the galaxy for his insane mash-ups. Now he has taken one of my favorite tracks of all time, Divine Gosa from Radioclit, to the remix-table. The thing with my favorite tracks is that it's really hard to make something that may proudly stand next to the original...

Ever heard of Gorillas On Drums? The first time I read their name was about 30minutes ago, OMGITM posted their newest song Hold your breath. Well, from the moment I heard the song I was convinced. The friendly dudes from The Oddword got some early support here, but it's been a really long time since I featured them in a post. I hope this post makes up for that!

After their smashing live-sets and cool original tracks, the boys also showed themselves to be prime quality remixers this year. The pope of dope and Jump from Dj Antention were the first remixes that got us all jumping and screaming, but recently they've made some new ones... And they might be even better than the ones I mentioned before!!! "Heavy" from Soda & Suds was a track that I liked a lot, but The Oddword remix really gave it a fresh approach. They just did what they always do: heavy basses, a ravey feeling, and last but not least: an overall approach that makes you want to jump around, scream, punch your mother because she doesn't stop complaining that you party too much.
Exactly the thing an electro track should do if you ask me!

If a guy like Ado asks you to give him some promotion for his new Ep, you have to be really dumb to ignore his request. The track that I liked the most from his give-aways is Reflux, which is a somewhat untypical track from him. The majority of his tunes can be described as trashy, hard-ass, ear bleeding stuff, while this one is a little bit more bleepy and bouncy. I bet this even lets your dead grandma dance in her grave... Sweet.

I have a lot of respect for Don Rimini since the first time one of his awesome mixtapes found it's way into my iTunes collection, and that's already 2 years ago... His pumping tracks like "Rave on", "Kung Fu", "Ohow", "G.O.O.D.",... have only made my love for him greater. He released a smashing mix for the Burn Paris Burn mixtape series a few days ago, which makes me feel like it's festival time again. The Don was actually the best set I heard this summer, at the feest in het park festival in august. Enjoy this mix, it's filled with banging tunes that put whole festivals on fire!

Hi folks, I'm back with yet another promo post for Comic Strips! It seems like almost everything I'm posting is something that's been made by him... I guess I'm just a sucker for a pretty bass! This fellow will be releasing his second Ep on Rot10 musik, and I can assure you that this is a no-brainer when thinking if it will be worth your money. The 3 tracks on it should be widely supported by anyone who's willing to give new talents a shot, or basically by everyone who likes his electro pumping and energetic.

My favourite track is Ghost Troubles, It comes so close to perfect that I was a bit afraid of what the other 2 might sound like when compared to it... Luckily for me, the other 2 are prime time bangers as well, who may stand proudly next to Ghost Troubles. Ill-matic is a blend between electro and metal, perfect for those moshers on the first rows! That's my sh!!, the title track of the Ep, is good head-banging material, but I'm afraid I ran out of superlatives to describe it. Awesome Ep, prelisten all of the tracks below!

With my exams coming closer and closer I can't really find time for anything apart from studying at the moment. And yet I make time for some blogging, I hope that I won't regret this... So yeah , because I can't make time for searching all through the internet for some good new stuff , I'll give you something that I already know for a while.

I got for you a guy called Tim Nelson aka Betatraxx. Well because I can't find a bio of him anywhere , that's all I know about him. But that isn't really important, his music on the other hand is. You could describe his productions as dirty electro with a deep/dark atmosphere, so check out some of his songs...

Here is my personal favorite, called Drug Abuse. It's not the easiest song to mix into another, but I'm just really linking the atmosphere in this song. Although it has some real dirty electro sounds it's still kinda deep.
And for all the producers out there, on his soundcloud you can find all the different lines of this song seperated so you can make a remix of it.

This one is a remix of 4th of July by Kelis. When I first heard the original song I was like: hmm liking that piano sound. But after a while I was already bored. So what I like about this remix is that he kept that piano-piece and made the rest of the song just so much more interesting. Enjoy.

While i was writing the above, a new status of X-ettl popped up on facebook. He posted a teaser for his remix on Jouissance Accablante by Dead CT Bounce. If you had never heard about X-ettl before I'll quickly introduce him to you. X-ettl (or Jens De Ketelaere) is one of the three guys of aerotronic. Aerotronic is known for their trashy electro sound and that sound you can also find in the productions of X-ettl, only a little more cleaner.

This teaser gives you a little taste of something that in my opinion sounds new and fresh. The only thing I don't really like is the climax. But it doesn't really bother me that much so ...

This is post number 202 on this page, woohoow! I forgot to add it in my post about Kraken heart and Comic Strips, but I guess you guys didn't noticed it as well.

What excites me even more is my brand new traktor s4 (for those who don't know what it is: watch this), within a few months (or longer, we wait until we are fully assured of our qualities) we will be available for bookings...

Today I have 2 sweet vids for you, both awesome in their very own way... They have one thing in common: they revive that typical 80's feeling!

The first is a promo video for the new Mr. Magnetik Ep, called "Mario is under acid". It will be released on the 24th of December on G point muzik, but I will let Mr. Magnetik do the talking for the rest of the post.

It all started off as a pleasantry, and though here the banter has gone to an offset inspiration taking us through an acidulous pilgrimage. This is how Mr Magnetik got promoted to the rank of demiurge of a track incarnating a play resurgence straight from the 80's!

For the friendly joke to be complete, he sends the track to his best buddy: The G from the G Point Muzik label.

« Mario Is Under Acid » starts as a stage of « Super Mario Bros » and ends up just like it, blowing up into fireworks. We are already all aware that the journey will be epic and that Bowser or any Koopa Troopa will find themselves unarmed facing the percussive rhythm boxes introducing one horny Super Mario. Ultimately, the final score will be grazing the hands of Jean Nipon and Shameboy who are as well joining the game, and offer dirty remixes of the track, coming right up from some parallel dimensions.

Mr Magnetik is here keeping off any pompous torments, turns on the console and delivers you a crazy game, which will make you whirl like pixilated bricks. Insert a coin and don't let the game end, don't repulse your childish pleasures!

The Kraken is loose again!

It's been a long time since I promoted something from the kraken, aka kraken heart here. The reason for this is quite obvious: the guy just took a short break from this project, to have more time to keep his other one (called Dropout Marsh, this is more dreamy and hypnotic than you're used too if you have heard the kraken already) alive. He's back in business now, his new mixtape is more bangin' than ever. It's actually a new mixtape project, no more Kraken tapes, but Beast tapes. Not that you'll notice, the sound stays the same. Thank God.

Temperatures are getting low here in Belgium. While i'm freezing my ass off because there's something wrong with the heater , I found a way to warm myself up. Trying to find some tracks where i can dance myself warm with. Well mission accomplished! Here's what i found...

Meet Zedd , a German producer who knows what he's doing. He produces in a lot of different genres but it looks like these days electro of the harder kind is becoming more important to him. Below , a remix he did on Skrillex 's Scary monsters and nice sprites. It is allready a couple weeks old but it keeps banging so hard and i just can't have enough. It has a lot of the same sounds as in the original mix but this electro version just has that little bit more. Enjoy!

The hype about Daft Punk's comeback is getting extremely infectious, even Breakdown has fallen to the madness... Should we get worried (maybe I have to get worried, after being such a naive fool to believe that Daft Punk would play at I love Techno)?

NO! Of course not! Everything that results in good electro songs should be embraced!

Valy Mo has received some attention from me a little while back, but this dude has more tricks in his sleeve than there are grains of sand in the desert. I can't find the words needed to describe the sound of this track (the fact that I'm in a hurry limits my creativity), the only thing I can say is that he did a great job. Ok go is a rock band from Chicago, who got famous because of their awesome videoclips. The one for this track is actually one of the best clips ever!
