Snobby Sharks

With 2 of my toughest exams down, I hope that I can find some more time to throw more stuff on the blog, but since I'm basically on my own, I don't have someone to cover my back when I'm feeling lazy.

Ok, let's cut the crap and get to the music! Snob Electro Sounds just finished a new remix for Gsus' "Vendetta", which I really like. It builds up very atmospheric, with some clerical "ooooooooh's" (a bit like the first 30 seconds of Cornelius from the Bloody Beetroots), and then it gets destroyed so rapid and violent that you just can't do anything but dance!

GSUS! - Vendetta (SNOB Electro Sounds Remix) by SNOB Electro Sounds

This is an older one, but it has the same feeling as the previous one, so hard and trashy that even your grandma won't be able to resist banging her head.

We are not cliché - Exhausted (Snob Electro Sounds' Stuck in a Turbine 2 remix)

"The Funniest Dudes" in Flanders electro universe have made a remix for SES and Gsus's new song "Beatgrinder". I am talking about Depuis 91 of course, the guys that gave away their last Ep for free. They mix melodic parts with trashy explosions, that's the way how to do it!
Check the original mix on Snob Electro Sounds' soundcloud!

GSUS! ft. SNOB ES - BEATGRINDER (D91 HEAVY BASS REMIX) by DEPUIS91

In the early days of this blog, I throwed a lot of Sharkslayer stuff at you, and this stream has weakened ever since we focused more and more on trashy shit. The last thing I listened from those Finnish dudes however, was just to NICE. I think this will be something that we'll be hearing on a lot of festivals this summer, it has everything to be a hit: a silly vocal, a tribal bassline, and it's highly dance-able too!

Shark... off!

Some brand new Sharkslayer remixes, they all have their specific sound: something between fidget and tech-house.
The vocals in the remix for Sekta give me a tropical, a bit scary feeling. Not a pure dancefloor monster, rather something to listen on your Ipod or mp3, wondering how Sharkslayer can be so genius.

Sekta - Peterpan (Sharkslayer Nassau VIP)

Femme en Fourrure are compatriots of the Sharkslayer duo, maybe this is why he remixed one of their tracks? Some high pitching, several layers, horns,... big tune!

Femme en Fourrure - Plump bisquit (Sharkslayer remix)

The last one is also appropriate for the dancefloor, sick drop at 1:30. This gets you jumping for sure! It's slightly older than the other 2, but since it's so good...

The Willowz - repetition (Sharkslayer rmx)

EDIT:Oh my god! This remix blows away the other 3, with sexy/creepy vocals, a crazy bassline and some melodies who are getting distorted by that crazy bassline... It was played by Illstm in his omgitm mix, made me hum the tune for days.
WOW!

Jinder - Youth Blood (Sharkslayer remix)

And now we have some cool tracks from Dirty Disco Youth's ...off Ep. His track Minds... off got remixed by Stereoheroes and Dirty Disco Youth. That's right, he remixed his own track! Both are good tracks, but I'm giving you his remix, it's slightly better.

Dirty Disco Youth - Minds... Off (DDY rmx)

The Fukkk Offf is strong enough to stand next to the original, and not being put to shame by it. A slightly different touch, somewhat more techno-like, resulting in a killer tune.

Dirty Disco Youth - Brains... Off (Fukkk Offf remix)

Heads... off, one of the three originals of the Ep, deserves some attention from you aswell. Perfect for heating up clubs, It might sound a bit weird when you listen to it the first time, but the barking dog at the drop does it for me. Close to perfection, that's what it is.

Dirty Disco Youth - Heads... Off

Enjoy!

More slaying the bass!

Sharkslayer and Harvard Bass... They just continue to amaze! I already did a few posts about them, but I thought that these songs were good enough to give them another post.

Nouveau Yourican - Boriqua (Harvard Bass remix)
Orgasmic - The sixpack anthem (Harvard Bass remix)
Mom & Dad - the Whole Sh'bang (Harvard Bass remix)
Sharkslayer - Critters
Renaissance man - Spraycan (Sharkslayer's Respect to Nassau mix)

Serial chillers (a Flemish duo) remixed a song by Canadian hip-hop artist Drake, and I really like it! This could become a real club-hit, thanx to the support Kanye West gave the original.

Drake - Forever (serial chillers drop the remix)

Eat This Hardcore Fuckers!

You all know these stupid hardcore remixes for rock songs like "Nothing Else Matters" (Metallica), now someone took revenge! With this dubstep remix for Neophyte & Dj Paul Elstak's classic "98 to piano", The Stint (Modek's side project) did a good job.

The creepy atmosphere stays, but now the pounding basses are replaced by typical dubstep sounds. The video that is made for it, in which the maker used some parts of the classic horror movie "Poltergeist", is definitely worth a look.

Neophyte & Dj Paul Elstak - 98 to piano (the stint remix)

Bonus:

I found these remixes a day after my "slaying the bass" post, and I felt like they should have been featured in it. Sharkslayer and Harvard bass at their best!

Drop The Lime - Set Me Free (Harvard Bass Remix)
Steed Lord - Who U With (Sharkslayer Remix)

And now for something completely different!

Laughed my ass of with this one! No relation with music or something, just a very stupid dog.

Slaying the bass!

Harvard bass and Sharkslayer are definitely two of the hottest producers at the moment, their records are being spinned by the likes of Crookers, Sound of Stereo, Congorock, and many more.

Sharkslayer's roots lay in finland, were we can also find Huoratron (the man with the beard). Their style is very different though, Huoratron has some very trashy electro tunes in his portfolio, while Sharkslayer makes fidget. But just listen to it yourself, why talk about genres here? These tracks are worth a bit of your precious time for sure!

Tune Brothers – Finally (Sharkslayer Nassau edit) (right click, save as)
Daniel Haaksman - Pobum Coco (Sharkslayer bass dub) (direct link)
Hot city - No More (Sharkslayer Nassau edit) (mediafire)
Sharkslayer - Scavengers (zshare)
Steed lord - Who u wit (Sharkslayer remix)

Harvard Bass' career got a kickstart because crookers played his song "caked" a couple of times, and then the other usual suspects followed. This californian producer releases a lot of tracks on sound pellegrino, the label that, in my opinion, will become as huge as ed banger records once was. His remix for Beni's "maximus" was played by almost all the artists I checked at I love techno, the words "maximus, dance with us" were everywhere. The Acid Girls remix was a song that was unknown to me before the event, but unknown does not mean unwanted in this case!

Harvard bass - Caked
Beni - Maximus (Harvard bass remix)
Acid girls - Lightworks (Harvard bass remix)
Drop the lime - Set me free (Harvard bass remix)

Fidgetting

Sharkslayer has made an excellent remix for digital manges their song manges (very original), it can be heard in the sets from sound of stereo and a lot of other fidget dj's.

Digital manges - Manges (Sharkslayer Dub)

Congorock is one of my favorite dj's at the moment, he was the best dj I heard at pukkelpop. Because this Italian was programmed so early, we had a lot of space to dance. The bloody beetroots love him, and their collaboration "rombo" turned out a to be a floorfiller when it was released (about two years ago). His remixes for fukkk offf and all leather are, in my eyes, treasures from God. Pray for him, and dance!

Fukkk Offf - More Than Friends (Congorock Remix)
All Leather- I Don't Hate Fags, God Does (Congorock Remix)

Some time ago, Afrojack was just another one of these house producers that I wouldn't even try listening to. But then, something changed... He released three bangin remixes in a very short time (make her say, sexy bitch, killer), but the one that really got the people dancing, was his remix for spencer & hill. It even got played by boys noize at I love techno!

Spencer & Hill - Cool (Afrojack Remix)

And now, for something a lot more underground: Ado! This guy from scotland makes such hard, distorted, fucked up electro, the bloody beetroots sound like britney spears compared to this shit! He has a really weird myspace, and ado is also a football club or something, because if you look it up on google, you find anything but his myspace. but anyway, here it is: Ado's myspace.

Ado! - Employee Of The Month
Ado! - Junk
Ado! - Plugged
