No good

Once again, we have disappointed you, readers of this blog. More than 2 weeks without a post, it seems that a week with a post is more exception than rule nowadays... I apologize for the 1000th time, but I fear that things won't start to get better soon. We're just all too lazy, because we have some good stuff in our inbox, but lack of inspiration, lack of will to write, lack of time, and plain old laziness fuck it up every time...

No good.

But hey, fuck it, let's get to the music!

I'll start with a release from Audionite, Rancid, which came out on Basserk records 2 days ago. The trash/acid sound of the tracks is very chaotic when you first listen to it, but after a second turn you're probably already hooked on it... I have permission to share the title track, which is also my favorite track of the 4. Enjoy!

Audionite - Dem Massive
Audionite - Cryptomania
Audionite - Tell Me

Second part is completely dedicated to the super duper awesome Bmkltsch record label, who released their next ep by No Body. It is, as expected, a beauty. 2 cool originals and 3 even cooler remixes, just the way we all like it... In this sentence, "all" means: AC slater, Djedjotronic, Stereoheroes, Malente,... Some very big guns, all the more reason for you to give it a chance!

My personal favorite is the Nt89 remix, check it below.

Buy the whole thing on beatport, and enjoy a free download of the Mike Mago remix here.

The last thing I'm gonna tell you, is hopefully not entirely new to you... Or it must be the case that you have been living under a rock for the last 2 months.
Gtronic is relaunching his career, and he threw some new songs on the net a few days ago. They do sound different from his earlier work, a bit more raw, but the Gtronic feeling is still very hearable.

Enjoy Dance Machine, the track that I was so excited about 2 months ago, when I went to the Fuse club to interview him.

Rebirth

After a small week where everyone in the electro scene, ranging from dyslectic youngsters originating from country's I didn't even knew they existed to very big guns like The Proxy, was worried about what Gtronic would do, he yesterday revealed his teaser clip that shows his new image.
It's a dark, creepy, and kinda horror like videoclip, and I hope that the soundtrack isn't representative for his new sound... I think it's totally not danceable, but I have in fact good reasons to believe that his first new tunes will be pretty awesome - because I heard them already at the party when I did my interview with him. So the "music" in the clip is just a way to create a creepy atmosphere, and I must say that it does the job right.

Quote from G in our interview, when asked what his new sound would be like.

No, actually, I tried to make it sound more crunchy, more special, more mysterious. I'm trying to explore my boundaries to achieve that perfect sound. With the new sound comes a new image, which you will all be able to see in the new video clip. It's more raw, more heavy, maybe even a bit shocking. I guess you will be able to see it for yourself when the clip comes out!

The clip is out now, and all the things he said about his image are true, now we only have to wait until he brings out his dance machines...

Blaster released his newest EP a few days ago, it's called "Cybertron" EP, and it contains 2 originals and 7 remixes. I have permission to share the original Chainsaw track, a trashy banger made to play at heavy electro parties, down in sweaty cellars or abandoned factory buildings...

Dark electro at it's best!

Back... or not?

Laptops that are broke down suck, that's for sure... After more than a week of being cut off from the electro scene, I needed some time to recover and to get back up to date in the fast moving electro world. I'm not sure that I have completed that job, but I will just give you a few songs that I liked from my internet search from the last few days.

The first one is Cabala from Cyberpunkers (I'm pretty sure a lot of you will have this already), a song that's perfect for the festivals and big open air shows. It has that signature Cyberpunkers feeling, ravey sounds all over... I'm getting kinda bored of it in a lot of their songs, but this one is just that little bit more diverse, which is why I like it so much!

The second one is a hard and dark Clouds remix, this would a perfect track for the smaller, more underground electro party's - like rock me on electro. Grinding, brutal,... it has everything you need! It's released on Fake Blood's Blood music.

Nick Campbell - Brick Scrap (Clouds remix) (thanks to the chemical jump!)

And for all those who went completely nuts when they saw Gtronic's facebook post that he would stop - he had announced it already in our interview, but it was unpredictable that he would do it so drastically. Don't worry though, his new tracks all sounded super duper extra awesome, so I don't think you'll be regretting this little switch :).

Gtronic Interview

I made some fuzz about the latest edition of rock me on electro a few weeks ago, and even though Trumpdisco cancelled their whole euro tour, and they were replaced by Mightyfools. Those dutchies did a pretty good job, but nothing could really compensate the loss of all the ear-rape Trumpdisco would have brought to Belgium. But anyway, Gtronic, Redial and the aforementioned Mightyfools where all pretty awesome, with Gtronic being the undisputed king of the night.

I suppose you already read the title of this post, so I will not tease you any longer.

You just got back from your first tour in the USA, what was it like?

Well, it was great actually. I played in San Fransisco and Los Angeles, and even though it felt like there wasn't any hard electro known there, they really were a great public. The kids there are actually more open for it.

If you had to choose, what is your favourite country to play in?

Well, I've said it before, and it's still true: Australia. The people there go absolutely crazy, and I've tried a lot of crazy stuff there myself, like crowdsurfing in a rubber boat.

You told me that there is a new EP coming, when will we be able to listen to it?

Well, the EP is finished (during his set he played the 2 originals from the new EP, the one with the "I need... to make... people... dance... NO! I'm a dance machine!" is already my favourite tune of the new year), it will consist out of 2 originals + remixes, and it will be released in approximately a month and a half on lektroluv records. There is not yet a preview available, I'm sorry for that :).

Your sound stayed the same?

No, actually, I tried to make it sound more crunchy, more special, more mysterious. I'm trying to explore my boundaries to achieve that perfect sound. With the new sound comes a new image, which you will all be able to see in the new video clip. It's more raw, more heavy, maybe even a bit shocking. I guess you will be able to see it for yourself when the clip comes out!

Me, Gtronic, and another fan.

In other, rather old interviews you said that you didn't liked to make mixtapes, and that you'd rather invested your time in making tracks and remixes. But in the past few years you did make a couple of mixtapes, one for Omgitm, and 1 for the trashbags compilation (the First Blood cd, I gave 2 of them away as a gift for our first anniversary). What did they gave you to bribe you?

Haha, they didn't bribe me or something like that, but I just feel like making a mixtapes is a lot of work for not much result, which is why I don't make a lot of them. And if I do, I really want them to have a purpose. That Omgitm mix was originally made for my manager, who wanted to send it to club promoters. And I could use it for Omgitm too, so that's how that mix was born. And the First Blood mix was actually a sign of my appreciation for Trashbags' continuous support, they always make sure that I have great tours in Australia, and they made the awesome Iron Man t-shirts.

Do you have some artists that we should keep an eye on?

No man, I actually have no time anymore to go all around the net searching through blogs for new stuff, wo I can't help you with that :)! I used to do that, but then all the touring began, and I had to stop because I had a lack of time. But I can tell you that I really like the new Sound of Stereo track, Hurricane, and that I visited the Dim Mak office, from where I got the info that Felix Cartal is working on a new EP. I'm pretty sure it will be awesome.

Mightyfools

Your new remix for The Subs "the face of the planet" is kinda epic, can you tell me something about it?

Yeah, I actually have a story to tell about this track. I first made the remix with only one vocal sample, and then I sent it to The Subs. But because I only had one vocal sample, it sounded kinda repetitive, so they decided to sing the vocals again, with more variation. It's a lot better now! (check this remix in orz's latest post)

What's a perfect party for you?

That's an easy one... Lots of booze, lots of hot girls, and a bit of crowdsurfing when I feel like too.
When I asked him after his set what it was like, he agreed that it was a great show!

Any favourite songs of the moment?

eerrrm, let's say Fuck the system from Cyberpunkers. I like a lot of them, they're my favourite producers!

And the last question, what's your favourite drink?

As you can see, I'm actually drinking it right now: Whiskey-Sprite!

Lots of thanks for Gtronic's time, and for being such an awesome DJ. His set was mindblowing, you had to be there to believe it! Here's a little taste of the wildness, shaped in the 2 dimensional format of a video. 2 dimensional - it can't even explain for 50 % why it was so good...

FME, G-Tastic, X-ettl

Heya!

Imagine a Threesome that consists of 2 ears and 1 mixtape/track/remix that blows your eardrums on the rhythm of the bass … aint that something to wish for?

Today your wish will be granted!

We have Kenneth De Rooze, also known as ‘Fuck My Eardrums’, delivering a smashing mixtape for all those in need of some awesome, mindblowing beats!
As his name tells us, the beats of his mixtape do what they are supposed to do, fuck your eardrums!

Hullabaloo live MXTP by Fuck My Eardrums

’G-Tastic : To describe the G-tasticness of a song.’

It should definitely become a word since all what’s being touched by Gtronic turns into Mindblowing, fistthrowing awesomeness that makes you want to party and jump at that exact moment you listen to it!
Gtronic remixed the new song of ‘The Subs’ for us: The face of the planet.

The Subs - The Face Of The Planet (Gtronic Remix) preview by lektroluvrecords

X-ettl, the leadproducer of Aerotronic, well known for his EP ‘Jetgum’ remixed Nadisko – Nebula and the result is oh so bad ass!
It’s a little Suckerpunchish and with that being said I think we all know what that means : Pure filth!

Wrap up # 9

We posted a remix of Dj antention's track Ivan a few months ago, it was remixed by X-ettl, one of the guys from Aerotronic. Vecho made one too, and this one is even harder than the one by X-ettl (oh, poor ears of mine, they really have a tough time nowadays...). I prefer this one over the original and remixes, but you are of course free to disagree with my humble opinion.
Big up for Vecho!

pass: ivanvechoremix593

And here is another one remix by Vecho, this time for Redial's "Venom". Sweeeeeeet!

The artist who would definitely have got the Ratrabbits award for "breakthrough artist of 2010" (if it existed), is Comic Strips. I have downloaded everything he has made so far, and 90% of that was pure sex (the other 10% was only foreplay). Not many producers achieve that level of versatility, quality and productivity. And he is only just starting... His latest remix is a bomb that has an impact similar to the one dropped on hiroshima.
It will hit you in you face out of nowhere... It's Sucker Punch by Gtronic!

Temabes is a producer from Moscow, Russia, who seems very eager to let the world know that he is out there, making stuff that bangs and kicks you right in your manhood. This is heavy, dark, grinding, teeth crushing electro like only a sick mind from the former soviet union can make... Prepare...

This remix by Beatbouncers is out since monday, and it's been supported by big guns like Kissy Sell Out, Cyberpunkers, The Oddword, Shameboy,... The sound is a lot heavier then their stuff when they were still a duo, something that I can only be happy about.

The Eleven from the Netherlands is a relative young producer, but his tunes already gained support from Dj's like Dem Slackers, Riptide, Screendeath,... And his track "Pie" will be released on Southern Fried records. His stuff sounds a lot like acid house, but then with a special touch that I can't describe exactly - let's call it the" clouds touch".

Bonus:

I posted a preview of this some time ago, now you can have the full version!

Rock me on electro!

I normally don't promote party's, no matter how awesome their line-up is...
But for this one, I am making an exception! Rock me on electro is bringing Trumpdisco to Belgium, one of my favorite artists of all time. They are pretty much the only ones that I already knew 3 years ago and that I still like now. Besides, in all that time they never got their asses out of Australia, which makes this even more special...
First time in Europe, first time in Belgium, probably the first time I will get an orgasm from hearing an electro set,...

And oh yeah, that's not even everything...

The rest of the line-up makes me even more excited!

Gtronic!

Redial!

Dr. Philth!

And 1 more special guest which is not yet announced.

Where, when, why, fee, how, what, whoop whoop?

Where: Fuse, Brussels
When: 18th of february
Why: You don't want your grandchildren to be bullied because "Haha, his grandpa (or grandma, in case there are girls reading this) wasn't there when Trumpdisco made everyone get so wild that the world stood still for a moment! LOSER!"
Fee: Just 10 lousy euro's, but grandparents stories are prizeless...
How: just get your ass down there, and let the music take control
What: probably the best party of your whole life
Whoop Whoop: You bet!

Ps: I haven't said anything about Gtronic or the other guys playing there, but don't get me wrong: their awesome too! Trumpdisco is just that little bit more special because their my favorite aussies, and I've seen tha G a couple of times already.

Happy birthday!

I almost forgot that we exist exactly 1 year today. At the 22th of october in 2009 I wrote my first post, giving my first readers some of my all-time favorite tracks. Illstm, Disco Villains, Trumpdisco, Mashed Paper Klub and Felix Cartal were the dudes that got honored by a post that day, and I still love them all. It's been a nice year, I got to know a lot of cool projects that I never would have run into if I wasn't doing this. But let's just cut the crap, and get to the birthday gifts right?

Gtronic and Nadisko mixed the first Tuff em up compilation cd, called "first blood". I received 3 of those as a gift from Gtronic, because we were supporting him since a long time. I kept one for myself, so that means that I have 2 of those left. I'm giving these away to our Belgian readers (I don't have the money to ship this to the other side of the world)! All you have to do is comment on this post why you would like to receive this cd, and the 2 funniest comments win! Kinda easy isn't it?

After a week I'll pick the comments that I laughed the most with, and I'll contact them to make sure the cd gets in the right hands.

This cd features tracks by Gtronic, Polymorphic, The Oddword, Autodidakt,... I guarantee that you'll party your ass off!

First Blood!

If you have followed our posts on Gtronic like a real noise-addict, you might remember us quoting the man himself "I don't like making mixtapes, I'd rather get famous with tracks and remixes."(or at least something like that). One of the thoughts that popped up in my mind when I heard this was: what if they asked him for something like BBC's essential mix? He wouldn't let that chance slip trough his fingers would he?
And I was right - we didn't had to wait for an essential mix (let's pray that one's still in the pipeline!)-, Gtronic made a mixtape cd for trashbags, and that mixtape was aired on Studio Brussel (Belgian radio station) last friday.

The tracklist is definitely bangin', filled with some stuff that you will probably hear for the very first time!

Gtronic - Mixtape for Trashbags and Studio Brussel (direct link, 96 kbps)

1. Kolt 13 ft. WEB - Love at the speed of light (Gtronic remix)
2. Gooseflesh - Blow up
3. WAT - Ground Zero (Dilemn remix)
4. The Mould - Soldier take a rifle
5. Audiodidakt - Shit your rack (Proxy remix)
6. Polymorphic - Move faster
7. MMMatthias - LIES (La tourette remix)
8. Haezer - Who the fuck is haezer? (cyberpunkers remix)
9. Barretso - We won't stop (Saint pauli Remix)
10. Rotze - Lowlife (Dyebox Remix)
11. Trumpdisco - Not for me
12. The oddword - Kortelas (vnnr remix)
13. DJ Antention - Go
14. Gtronic - Sucker punch

The mix cd where the mix is featured on (First Blood) in full quality, will be released only in Australia, with another set from Nadisko on side B. Definitely worth your well earned bucks if you live down under!

BAAD disko

Nadisko, our Australian noisebringers (together with Trumpdisco of course), have a brand new mixtape. This mixtape will stay forever in your minds, hearts and souls because of that first track...

It's Sucker Punch from Gtronic, a tune where I've told you something about a few posts ago. This is a killer tune, even Gtronic hasn't made anything so good and heavy. The other tracks in the mix keep up the vibe that starts those first minutes, and you won't stop banging your head for 20 minutes.

The third track is one from the guys themselves, named Ringer. Keep an eye open for the release of this one, it will be remixed by some serious big guns!

Nadisko May 2010 Mix by Nadisko

Sucker Punch - GTRONIC

Kortelaas (VNNR Remix) - The Oddword

Ringer - Nadisko

Pop and Jerk (Clouds Remix) - ADO!

Driver - Gooseflesh

Rox Sox - Uppermost

Mad - Elite Force

Kazane (Disco Of Doom Remix) - Hiroki Esashika

Fuck Us We're Famous (Now) - C'est Exact Jack

Fan Out - Surkin

Manege 88 is a french co-project between Romain Mika & Dorian Trawka, and besides the fact that they have one of the weirdest band names ever, they make some pretty funny tunes. Their remix for Oizo's "positif" had even more absurd vocals and a fatter beat than the original, and now they remixed Baadman's "Mort Subite" Ep (which actually came out in january).

Baadman is a solo project of Arthur Dutil, a young French gun. He's currently living in Caen, a town in northern France, he will soon take over his whole country if he continues like this! His production skills are surprisingly well, and this lad is only 15 years old... He has played with guys like Don Rimini, The Bloody Beetroots,... And more will follow!

Definitely 2 projects to keep an eye on!

Baadman - Mort subite original

Baadman - Mort subite (Manège 88 remix)

Damaged Case - Requiem (Baadman remix)

Mr. Oizo - Positif (Manège 88 remix) (real old one, but if you haven't heard it yet, this is your chance!)

Newsnewsnews!

Apologies for another weekend without a single post, but I hope to make it up with this post. long periods of waiting for posts might become something usual, as the finals are coming closer. And Ratrabbits need study to, otherwise their parents get real mad. But stay with us, we won't let you down in your search for the most banging tunes from the net!

The first dude who will get his bit of attention today is Illstm. He teamed up another time with A Girl and a Gun (their first collabo resulted in the beast of a track named "Uppercut"), and created Moctezuma. This is Illstm at his best, and it eases the pain that I had when hearing that Blanka Kidz wouldn't ever see the light of birth... Due to some technical issues, he can't complete the track. So the only bit of it we will ever get to hear is the 1 minute piece in his OMGITM mix. Anyway, he's real busy at the moment, rumors about a release on Ed Banger together with Sawgood are circulating... (Or not, apparently it was just an april fool... Stupid me!)

IllStM - Moctezuma (feat AG&AG and natesH) by IllStM

I was also really digging this remix he made for Playdoe's "Ice cream". Released on Leonizer records together with 8 other remixes and another original.

Playdoe - Ice Cream (IllStM & Zôl rmx) by IllStM

BAM! That's how hard Gtronic's new track, Sucker Punch wil hit you! Released on Dim Mak or Lektroluv recs, it's going fast for this guy! After one or two Ep's on Dim Mak he's signed exclusive to Lektroluv for 3 years. And we all know what happened with Sound of Stereo when they got signed to Lektroluv... After the Zipper Ep on lektroluv came Flatland (wasn't really digging that one to be honest) on Dim Mak, and now they have just finished touring North America. Belgium for the win! No new track or remix from tha G at the moment, just keeping you posted.

Depuis 91 is a Belgian trio or Quattro (having a big dick is apparently a very important thing for these dudes, that's why they have the fourth member). I am liking the way they present themselves, not taking the whole thing to serious, but they have some dope tracks up in their sleeve. Melodic and hard at the same time, the real Ratrabbit way...

Athlantiq - D91 by dewaele

Depuis91 & Paco De Moor - Our Way by Paco De Moor

This last one is an experiment, a blend between pop/rock and electro. A bit old skool feeling

I am the pope of dope!

My excuses for the 3 days without a single post, but I had a very busy, very nice weekend full of parties and family stuff. But now I'm back with a shitload of electro bangers, I'm sure you will enjoy them!

Almost a full year after the release of the original "Cherry/Kiwi"-EP, Mustard Pimp comes out with a new Ep, full of remixes. The dopeness comes from some ratrabbit-favorites, Blatta & Inesha, Gtronic, Ikki, Chewy Chocolate Cookies,... None of these tracks will leave you behind disappointed, but my favorites are the Gtronic, Blatta & Inesha and Gigi Barocco remix. Naughtiness everywhere! Buy the whole damn thing on Beatport!

1. Cherry ft. Kali (Chewy Chocolate Cookies Remix)
2. Cherry ft. Kali (Blatta & Inesha Remix)
3. Cherry ft. Kali (Taku Takahashi Remix)
4. Cherry ft. Kali (Rayflash Remix)
5. Cherry ft. Kali (Ikki Remix)
6. Cherry ft. Kali (Ajapai Remix)
7. Kiwi (Gtronic 'Big Bass' Remix) Gtronic's "Just another Bass mix" (not the official rmx, but it doesn't sounds very different)
8. Kiwi (Gigi Barocco Remix)
9. Kiwi (Booty Bronx Remix)

"I am the pope of dope, I am from Wallifornia. Dirty sound from Belgium, WOA, WOA!"
The Subs teamed up with the Partyharders squad to make the track "Pope of Dope". Let me tell you that the outcome is even better than the title of the track. Some silly vocals usually do the trick, and if they are boosted by a phat bass, nothing can go wrong anymore! BOOM!

Party Harders vs The Subs - The Pope Of Dope (LL27 preview) by lektroluvrecords

The Australian duo The Aston Shuffle released their new Ep "I wanna see you" last friday, and it contains 3 banging remixes, from which I will share to you the most banging ones: Harvard Bass and Malente. Dancefloor burning shit, what else could you expect from our hero Victor Ramos (Aka Harvard Bass)? The one from Malente might even be better, nice build-ups, breakdowns and everything in between. Mjammjam!

The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you
The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you (Harvard Bass rmx) (removed on request)
The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you (Malente remix) (removed on request)
The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you (DCUP rmx)

Bonus:
And there's even a bonus track, highly recommended!
Good old Blatta & Inesha never disappoint me, 2 remixes from them in the same post: dopeness like only the pope can do!

Urchins & Spoek - tickets (Blatta & Inesha rmx)

Electro beats taking over Metal tracks

I never loved metal, to be honest: I couldn't even listen to it! But since today, I think I have to change my mind. I just found a remix of a "Slipknot" track, and it sounds pretty good. Thanks to BELZEBASS for making this one!

If you like it the hard way, check out their other tracks:

And.. hey.. WAKE UP! This is not the first electro remix of a metal track that can make the crowd go crazy. If you're a fan of our blog, you defenitely should know Gtronic and The Oddword. They also made a remix of a metal track; System of a down - Chop Suey (The Oddword ft. Gtronic)

Well, if all remixes of metal tracks can be such destroyers, goodbye fidget!

Pink is back!

This Gtronic remix seemed to be up for a small month already, I can't come up with a reason why nobody posted it...
So anyway, here it is: the Gtronic remix for Pink a Pad's "Pink is Back". Dark, heavy, not for pussys,... good old G at his usual level.

Pink a Pad's - Pink is Back (Gtronic remix) (removed on request, the whole Ep can be bought at beatport)

If you have wondered why you can't find any mixtapes from him, the reason for this is kinda simple. He doesn't has that much time to work in his studio, and when he has, he rather makes tracks and remixes. Again a mystery solved by the Ratrabbit detectives!

Topaloca is a young producer from Belgium, and he recently made a few new acks. "Break the sound barrier" is the best of those. Not so hard as I like my electro normally, but I see he has some talent.
