Vakkuum in the Russian ghetto

Vakkuum is a Vermont based producer, but his sound can better be described as "Russian", referring to the recent BOOM of producers from there. I am talking about guys like The Mould, Marseille, Noise Invaders and Polymorphic (his star has been rising for a longer time though). All these artists are united under the MAKO flag, proudly hosted by labelboss Proxy.
Vakkuum has remixed South Ghetto, from The Mould, and has given it an even more harder make over. It's an unofficial remix, but if they hear this in Moscow at the MAKO headquarters, I'm sure they will get over excited! This will punch you right in the face for sure!

Bonus:

Ikki has made a new original, the description I read about it was that it sounded just like an old Bloody Beetroots song, and that description fits perfectly!

Fuck titles! Who cares about them anyway?

The hype around Barbra Streisand, the upcoming summerhit from Duck Sauce, is starting to become real huge. The original is still unreleased, and as far as I know there hasn't been pinned down an official release date, but the first remix has popped up already.

I definitely think that the original will be 10 times as big as this, but for those who can't wait for the original this is a good track to soften the waiting time. I wouldn't really call it a remix, it's more like a re-edit. But seriously: can anyone make something better out of this track without stripping it from it's summer feeling? I doubt it. Anyway, thanx to mr O-god for this piece of sugar, it got me jumping.
Enjoy!

Edit: Because that looped sample keeps me playing the song over and over again, lets share the original Boney M track.

Boney M - Gotta Go Home

Our last topic on Mechanical Resistance dates from november already, but in that long absence, they prepared a banging remix for us (and for everyone else who likes a banging tune)! I can see this putting dancefloors on fire, banging basses just the way I like em. They have become more mature in their productions, always a good thing. I'm digging this more than the other tracks we've posted, this is less trashy, but with a real pounding bass underneath.

Bam bam!

Proxy is in the USA for the first time, all the american kids are preparing for a party. Evgeny has other plans though! In his own words:

“New York. Atlanta. Boston. Coachella. These are the places and alternative music festivals I was taught to hate as a child. It is difficult to see them as anything other than targets, and I will treat them as such. New York. Rubble. Atlanta. Ruins. Boston. Ash. Coachella... Extinction.

I eat a cigarette. I prepare to wrestle your winds of freedom to the ground. I cannot allow you to live inside your skulls for much longer.”

Aah, that typical Russian hospitality towards americans, loving it!

To stress the fact that the man is in the US and A, Turbo is releasing a remix Ep for his monster track "8000". The Sticky K rmx has definitely gotten his stamp, making the sounds a bit more "silly" (and I mean that in a good way). Banger! A little fidget touch, why not?

The Clouds remix is fucking hard, seems like the Proxy himself remixed it. I thought that a hard approach could only destroy what makes the original so good, but apparently I was wrong.

SIDE_ B of MAKO_ 001: MARSEILLE !

As we all know, after Proxy did a research for about 3 years, he started a new label called MAKO Records. Existing of Proxy, Noise Invaders, Polymorphic, The Mould, Eclier and Marseille.

We already have posted some tracks of The Mould, but now I'll post some of Alexey Nosulenko - better known as Marseille. Proxy gave Marseille the opportunity to release the album "UFO ATTACK", which is the first release of MAKO Records.

Proxy - Proxy LP

The Proxy is working on his album (it's probably going to be titled "Proxy), rumor has it that it will be released in march. In the meantime, there has popped up an album teaser. It has caused people to freak out, even while it's only 1 minute and 48 seconds long, for 14 ear-bleeding militaristic techno tracks. I've spent the last bit of my youth analyzing it to get most of the track ID's.
Most of em can already be heard in his live-sets for quite a while now, and because the bits and pieces of the tracks that you can hear are no longer than 10 seconds, I'm reposting his live-set from I love techno. The tracks in that live-set are in a much better quality than the teaser (which is 40 kbps), and they're a lot longer.

The Proxy - Album Teaser(40 kbps)

Tracklist of the teaser:
Cooper
Cypher
Abyss
Kamuyi
Indian film
Nanomed
Predator
Quad damage
Status
Who are you
Think first
8000
Vibrate
Parasite

Thanks to the people who helped me with the ones I didn't know!

Iron man & the new Proxy!

A little while ago, we gave you some tracks from Gtronic's "Iron man" Ep, and now Stereoheroes gave us their remix of this amazing track. They added some vocals to it, this gives the song a whole new face. Consider it a (belated) Christmas gift from them! If you want to buy the whole Ep in 320 versions, it's available on beatport.

Gtronic - Iron Man (Stereoheroes remix)

Vecho is another great Belgian electro project, their tracks are bombin'! The "Waters of Nazareth" remix starts so fucking hard and loud, I almost couldn't believe my ears! Same story for the "Rombo" remix. I thought the originals couldn't be harder, but Vecho has proven me wrong. They also remixed the militaristic fairytale called "8000", and this remix got me headbanging from the first second. Vecho's sound can be described as typical Proxy noise, I'm really loving it.

Proxy's complete circle

Evgeny Pozharnov aka Proxy said in his interview with bunch.tv that he was a d&b man, and I thought he was joking, because his normal stuff is everything but drum&bass. This last remix he did for the prodigy changed my mind. There are indeed some typical d&b sounds in this remix, but his trademark, heavy, hard, electro that you know from tracks like "Raven", "Dancing in the dark", his remix for Digitalism's "Home zone" and all his other great tracks, stays intact. You could say that the circle is now complete: after seeing the Prodigy in 1997, Proxy knew that he wanted to make music. He know remixes his former heroes, and he also had the honour to open their shows in Russia.

In his interview with Dazed Digital he says that his noisy sound originates from the hard life he led in Russia, and that he can't imagine a life without his music. Very mysterious man, as Kissy Sell Out once said about him on bbc radio 1 during his "In new dj's we trust" radio show.

The prodigy - Invaders must die (Proxy remix)
Zombie Nation - Shottieville (Proxy remix) (oldie, but it didn't got the attention it deserved)

Diplo (one half of Major lazer, the other one is also known by the name of Switch) is still doing some sick stuff besides his co-project. Here he remixes Tom Stephan's "Turn that shit up", and it sounds very nice! Some "lazer-esque" sounds, which should be enough to give it some love. I'm also giving you the original, this one is more electro and disco orientated.

8000

A few days ago, I found the unripped version of 8000 by the proxy. So I just thought I'd share it with you guys, because the set-rip from Tiga at werchter isn't quiet what I call "high quality". For those who haven't heard from this song before, it's a bit weird, not something that's typical for the proxy, but I think it kick's ass! Sounds like gnome walking around in the forest, doing a typical "gnome-dance".

But then on a beat. Of course, you are free to make up your own stories about this song, I'll be glad to hear them!

The Proxy - 8000 (non-ripped version)

This is the official video for 8000, showing some typical soviet images, like uhm, drunk soldiers and stuff.

Bonus:

The "who are you" ep concludes "8000", and of course "who are you". You should all know the bloody beetroots remix from "who (the fuck) are you" by now, but you shouldn't forget about the original too! The trumpdisco remix is, just like all their other remixes, a song that leaves the core of the original like it was, and then they give the rest a whole new touch. You should definitely check it, hope you guys dig!
