US electro is not dead!

My 2 favorite US producers seemed to be a bit lazy the last few months, or at least we didn't brought you any new stuff from them... But The Disco Villains and Figure weren't sitting down and doing nothing, they actually prepared some sick new stuff!

Let's start with the Disco Villains, because they had some bad luck with the health of Louie Fresco, who was really sick the last couple of months. Now that he's getting better, they started to work in the studio again, and they pumped out some summer style songs that fitted my mood perfectly today. They're all quite techy and with a latin vibe, but every once in a while I like my songs that way. Eyes wide open for the nex ep, they have caught Etienne de Crecy as a remixer!

Disco Villains - La Boa by Disco Villains

Figure's Ep, called 'the death of Joshua" was released on we are live records a few days ago. Angry distorted tunes (like he describes it on his own blog, Penned Madness), that was a genre that he didn't made yet. These 3 tracks are all a bit more trashy than his other stuff, but just like I said before, this man is so genius that it always turns out great! There should be coming a remix ep too somewhere soon, with remixes from Modified Noise and Flufftronix.

Tracklist of the teaser:
Lover of the broken
Bring it
The death of joshua

Buy it on beatport here!

Bonus:

This remix for Tiga's "you gonna want me" is one of the few songs that I'd happily download a shitty, setripped and full of jingles- version from. The reason why is obvious: it's massive! Played by Erol Alkan, and tons of others are to follow!

Aaaaah, spring time!

So this fucking long winter is finally over, and the darkest month ever in Belgium (February had the fewest hours sunlight ever) had to make place for march, and we finally get a little sun and warmth. Now who's gonna give you that summer feeling? Disco Villains maybe?
Disco Villains are back with a laidback "rerub" for a track named chiquetere. Or is it just an original? The rerub-thing might leave you behind in despair, wondering what it is. I would say it doesn't matter, but for the true purists: it is a redo for an old song, but Disco Villains made it totally different. A summer-hit? Let's hope that we hear it a few times at the festivals! They made this song for WMC (Winter Music Conference, a HUGE festival in Miami), so it will definitely get played some times over there.

Disco Villains - chiquetere 2010 rerub

The next songs I have in store for you are a little less summerstyle, they sound more like you're trapped in a snowy, stormy, windy, cold(y) and noisy wall of sound. Real harsh, just like the previous tracks from this young dude from Flanders. I said it was harder than Proxy last time, and I still think that this description fits. Download at own risk!

Shaved monkeys - Get rough (Vecho remix)
Dada Life - Let's get bleeped tonight (Vecho remix)

Sonsu's remix for "you got the love", keeps the vocals that made the original a radio-hit, and ads a fidget-house break. Summer feelings everywhere!

Lots of talk and tunes, lack of pics

I've been searching the internet today to give you some tunes, and I think I have succeeded!
The first one is a track from Huoratron, "Gbay". Typical Huoratron shit, scary, screeching, sawing, soul-sucking electro!

Huoratron - Gbay

This one is a fidget song, a genre that has been pushed a bit to much to the background on this blog. Typical jackin basslines, looped vocals, everything's there to get you dancin.

Tjr - Booty move

Remember what I said about P2t getting big? Check this latest remix by The Killer Rabbits for their track "jump", trashy, ravey, it has it all! That description fits perfectly for the second remix that I'm giving you, the remix by The Third.

P2t - Jump (The Killer Rabbits remix)
P2t - Jump (The third remix)

And a last one, these guys don't need an introduction anymore I think....
The Disco Villains! Their next Ep will be remixed by Gigi Barocco, so keep your eyes and ears wide open for that!

The Futureflashes - Get Down the funk (Disco Villains remix)

And the last one, also a fidget, jackin tune:

Paul Anthony - Let me Bang (Figure remix)

Disco villains say: Ice Ice Baby!

A fresh Disco Villains tune, they remixed Vanilla's Ice classic "Ice Ice baby", typical Disco Villains stuff (= awesome). They might be coming to Europe around march/april, but they are still looking for some more gigs to get their flight costs completely covered. So if you want to see a fuckin' great party, give them some money so they can come over!

Vanilla Ice - Ice ice baby (Disco Villains remix)

Woohoow!
Just found a new Trumpdisco track, so I thought it was my duty to give it to you guys!

Phoenix - 1901 (Trumpdisco vs Violate)

Soundboysrock are a french duo from Troyes, who made a cool remix for Todd Terry and Tara Mcdonald's track "play on". Since it's an electro remix, they made it more ravey, with a great build-up and some high noises in the background. Got me jumping from the first time I heard it, something that's not so easy since I've been listening to so much electro music lately.

Belgian pride!

The Disco Villains! I remember hearing their "we are your friends" remix for the first time like it was yesterday. Their typical sound would never get out of my head again, thanx to other great remixes they made for 50 cent, Ace of Base, Technotronic, N.E.R.D.,... And now they refixed a song for one of Belgiums new big dj-duo, Soda 'n' Suds. Their "Fuck House" ep has been featured some days ago on this blog, if you didn't got your hands on it, go do it right now! The Disco Villains remixed their "we do it again" track, download here:

Soda 'n' Suds - We do it again (Disco Villains remix)

The Oddword (Antwerp based duo from Belgium)is saying hello to the new decade with their latest track, called "hello goodbye". The videoclip is showing some black people dancing real cool, wish I could dance like them! The original is a song by Jeanette, called porque te vas. This is no straight-forward electro, it has a lot of funk influences, but I'm still loving it! Give em some love when you catch them playing somewhere!

Introducing...

Hi,

I am turtle tosser, one of the three writers of this blog. We are a band of partypeople, who decided to make a blog. Our style of music is kind of the same: banging electro, distorted noises, some fidget and every now and then we add a little dubstep to the mix. Because this is my first post, I will give you some
of my favorite songs. I know they're not fresh, but I have loved them forever, and never understood why dj's don't play them.

Trumpdisco is an Australian duo, who have made excellent remixes for fatboy slim, mr. oizo, freeland and even lord of the rings! Their original tracks are also, in my opinion, great floorfillers. This song is one of my favorite remixes they made, and their trademark (noisy, distorted beats) comes out very well in this one. enjoy!

boy 8-bit - the suspense is killing me (trumpdisco remix)

I don't know many artists from norway, and I don't suppose that there are a lot of electro artists down there. Anyway, Illstm comes from this cold and snowy place, which is enough to pay some attention to it! Here's a mustard pimp remix from him, this song gave me party-energy for months, unbelievable nobody noticed this one...

Mustard pimp - RER D (Illstm violence mix)

Next up: Mashed paper klub, two young lads from belgium who throw excellent party's in brussels ( check http://www.fightklub.be/). They are more then party people, just check their video for this remix on their myspace and you know what I mean.

Hools - Don Rimini (mashed paper klub feat. floating remix)

In California, Disco villains seem to be pretty big. Here in Europe they are known because they made some songs who made it to the top of the hype machine's popular chart (justice's we are your friends, wu tang clan, N.E.R.D.,...). The remix that I love the most, is one for technotronic, a belgian r&b group from the nineties.

Technotronic - pump up the jam (disco villains remix)

My last song for now is one from felix cartal, a guy from Canada, who makes very trashy electro music. "I never liked music, until I heard my own" he says on his myspace. and when you hear his productions, one can understand why.

Laidback Luke - Need your loving (Felix Cartal remix)

Hope you enjoyed these tracks, and spread the word please!
