It has been a really long time since I posted some stuff here, but that's apparently not something to worry about. The reinforced ratrabbits blog team is doing a pretty good job, so a bit of laziness from the chief isn't such a big deal anymore.

But anyway, here are a few songs and video's that I digged, hope you'll like em :)!

We start with the clip for Felix Cartal's newest single "World Class Driver". Musically, I like the Harvard Bass remix more (it just sounds so nasty on a big system), but the clip for the original is so fucked up and weird that you'll start to rethink your opinion about it.

Next, we have a few releases from BMKLTSCH records, and as always: the quality is exceptional, with a wide array of styles, ranging from electro hip-hop to big basses and grinding synths.

The first release I want to put in the spotlights here, is one from Skip & Die, the "Muti Murder" EP. The track that caught the trophy for "best track of the ep" is the Starski remix, it has a great build up, and a sound that in one way or another makes me long for the festival season...

If you're a fan of electro hip-hop, you should definitely check out "Get your braai on", it reminded me of the party it was when Buraka Som Sistema played at the festivals...

I said something about heavy basses a few lines back, and I wasn't lying... The Oddword has remixed Electrophants' Sledgehammer, and as expected, it's a heavy bass monster.

Last but not least we have a nice remix made by Clockwork. The sound is pretty different from other tracks and is probably produced in space. Sounds a bit Modek'ish i think.

It's again more then a week ago since I've posted something here - I guess time flies when you have to learn for your exams. Anyway, I found some real nice stuff on the blogosphere and in our inbox, and by nice I mean: music that you can party at even when you're doing the dishes (God knows how many times I've did it).

I'll start with a fresh remix from Harvard Bass, the dude who left Harvard to get his dj career started (too bad Leuven Bass sounds so shitty, or I could follow the same path). I think he made the right choice, there's enough time to study when you're tired of the dj'ing. And it's some damn nice pocket money too! But let's get back to the point, the remix we're talking about here is one for Felix Cartal's "World Class Driver". It's sticky, heavy and with a few scary vocals, what else do you need?

Up next is a new Ep from Figure, which is always something that makes me walk around with a big smile on my face for the rest of the day. The atmoshpere is rather grim in this batch of tunes, the title makes it clear already: it's about torture muthafucka! Lot of cool vocals in this one, and the whole Ep contains remixes from Hostage, Udachi and Noise Floor Crew and a b-side called "Bitches". My favourite picks are the original and the Udachi remix, the first one is available for your listening pleasure for free below, for the second track you will have to pay a visit to Beatport.

A mixtape from my favourite whore bosses Mustard Pimp is always worth to share, especially since it's been such a long time since I've posted one. This is the first installment in a new series, the Catastrophe mixtapes. They promise to bring more of them during the coming year, let's hope they keep that promise! Their album is about to drop at the beginning of 2011, I'm already psyched!

And before've even had time to notice, you have ended up at the last part of this post already! "Oooooh no", I hear you scream, "I want more!". OK THEN, (spoilt bastards) here's another banging tune, from the master of sticky, silly, happy songs: Sticky K! He remixed Maru from Pance Party, and he definitely gave it his trademark. Enjoy!

Religious acapella songs

At the Rock Werchter festival in the beginning of July, Shameboy was one of my highlights. Making the whole marquee go crazy at 3 o clock in the afternoon, not many have succeeded in that. Apart from their older hits, they also played some new stuff like their remix for Kelis - Acapella. It was the last song they played, and in my opinion it was one of the best. Kelis herself made some promo for it on her website, so she must be very proud too. Below is the video from the festival, it's definitely worth a look.

Felix Cartal was losing some of my respect, because he used to be such a nice and innovative electro producer, and ever since his album he seemed only to get softer and softer. To prove to you that he still knows how to make a banging electro track, I have a remix he did for his own "Volcano" track. I think this version is 10 times better than the original - it's 10 times harder.
I also have a remix from "Berlin", made by Religion. I'm definitely going to look after some more stuff from these guys, they really made me bang my head with this one.

Keatch, Belgian gladiator who's signed on Boys Noize records, has teamed up with Felix Cartal (Dim Mak). I bet that only those 2 names in one sentence make your electro hormones go wild, and let me tell you something: you have the right to become horny!



This track is "Solar", from their upcoming Ep. Played by Geht's Noch at Mano Mundo in Boom, Belgium. They have found a label (still unknown which one) for this release, and they have 2 other tracks in their sleeve where they are still looking for someone to release it. The other track on the first Ep is called "Lunar". Check it below.





Other hot news: Boys Noize will release a remix Ep for "Kontact Me", with rmx's from Rynecologist, Housemeister, Jan Driver, Depressed Buttons and Beataucue. The one that I'm looking forward to the most is the "Rynecologist turbine mix", and the best thing of it?
This rmx will be given away for free on the Boys Noize Blog! We'll keep you posted!

Felix Cartal's album "Popular Music" has just been released digitally on Dim Mak, and Taelor has done a good job with this. It's filled to the top with bangin' tunes, in his typical sound, a cross-over between techno and electro. I've picked "Love" and "Berlin" as my favorites. So many good tunes lately, it's hard to pick out the ones that really stand out...
I'll give you some tracks by ratrabbits favorites, Gtronic, Felix Cartal and Dirty Disco Youth.


The "Pumpin" Ep by Nt89 and Distrakt will be released on vinyl the 15th of this month, and the 1st of march, but for those who can't wait, we have the Gtronic remix for you. This Ep is supported by basically every artist that we love, so you better love it too!

Felix Cartal (real name Taelor Deitcher) seems to be in a very busy mood, a few months ago he released Drone, but after that it became a little bit silent about this talented Canadian... With his album coming up, the rmx's seem to flow thick, something you should thank god for! This one doesn't have the famous "big drops" that we're used too, it's more a continuously vibe going on, which works great.
I'm so hyped about the album, so we'll definitely will keep you posted about that!

Dirty Disco Youth remixed Wolfgang Gartner's mix of Britney spears's "3", and now the annoying vocals are completely destroyed, NICE! Some real hard noize in there, which is always good when you remix a sucky pop song.

It’s all about Canada!

Canadian Felix Cartal has been busy making fat tunes for a few years now, and in the very near future, he will be releasing an album “popular music”, on Dim Mak records. The title track of that album has hit the net a few days ago, and it’s getting positive response from all over the globe. I have to say that I’m digging it completely, and I’m completely hyped about the album.
I also have a new remix by him for you, the original song has the most ridiculous long title I have ever seen: “I Have High Expectations For What I Want To Be But In The Mirror I Don't See Them Staring Back At Me”. And since it’s a remix, you can add “Felix Cartal Remix” to it aswell.

This one is a real oldie I think, but since it hasn’t been released officially on a record label, I believe it is my duty to post it.
Baby Techno, that’s the name of this beauty. And it’s pure sex, this is one of those songs that make the sun look sunnier, and the winter a little less cold. This is only a set-rip, but if you have a better quality version, feel free to tell me!

Hi,

I am turtle tosser, one of the three writers of this blog. We are a band of partypeople, who decided to make a blog. Our style of music is kind of the same: banging electro, distorted noises, some fidget and every now and then we add a little dubstep to the mix. Because this is my first post, I will give you some of my favorite songs. I know they're not fresh, but I have loved them forever, and never understood why dj's don't play them.

Trumpdisco is an Australian duo, who have made excellent remixes for fatboy slim, mr. oizo, freeland and even lord of the rings! Their original tracks are also, in my opinion, great floorfillers. This song is one of my favorite remixes they made, and their trademark (noisy, distorted beats) comes out very well in this one. enjoy!

boy 8-bit - the suspense is killing me (trumpdisco remix)

I don't know many artists from norway, and I don't suppose that there are a lot of electro artists down there. Anyway, Illstm comes from this cold and snowy place, which is enough to pay some attention to it! Here's a mustard pimp remix from him, this song gave me party-energy for months, unbelievable nobody noticed this one...

Next up: Mashed paper klub, two young lads from belgium who throw excellent party's in brussels ( check http://www.fightklub.be/). They are more then party people, just check their video for this remix on their myspace and you know what I mean.

In California, Disco villains seem to be pretty big. Here in Europe they are known because they made some songs who made it to the top of the hype machine's popular chart (justice's we are your friends, wu tang clan, N.E.R.D.,...). The remix that I love the most, is one for technotronic, a belgian r&b group from the nineties.

My last song for now is one from felix cartal, a guy from Canada, who makes very trashy electro music. "I never liked music, until I heard my own" he says on his myspace. and when you hear his productions, one can understand why.
