Catastrophic Awesomeness!

A new year usually means a fresh start for the most of us and if that doesn’t fit within your philosophy, you probably want to continue with what you were doing, being awesome!

That is exactly what Mustard pimp did with their new Catastrophe Mixtape Vol. 5!
This one is the 5th in the his series and oh boy, they only keep getting better and harder which is obviously what we want and can’t get enough off!

Our French duo from Dim Mak is doing really great at the moment, just think about the Jack Bauer mixtape they made last year, the OMGITM mix and let us not forget the ‘Burn Paris Burn’ mixtape series!
Aaaaaand Apart from all that goodness, they will soon deliver some recently finished quality tracks as well.
Something to look forward to!

Mustard Pimp - Catastrophe Mixtape Series Vol 5 by mustard pimp

I’d also like to introduce you to Loadstar.
Loadstar is the new name Xample and Lomax gave to their partnership.
Both of them are well known producers from the UK, especially in the DnB scene.
With an album forthcoming on Ram records this year, they’ll definitely draw attention from more people around the globe!
I can already imagine how tracks like ‘Space between’ and the absolutely sick remix of Breakage’s ‘Fighting fire’ will get people going insane (in a good way) on the dancefloor!

I think we are looking at a duo that will dominate the Drum and Bass scene in the years to come!

Mustard pimp & Borgore

We all know Mustard Pimp and we all know they're good at what they do. But I didn't see this one coming... When I saw the soundcloud player on their facebookwall, I excepted it to be something like Kiwi or Paper. Well... ofcourse is wasn't. This remix of Steve Aoki's Wake Up Call is a piece of big beat sounding... Well fuck it, just listen to it!

Steve Aoki & Sidney Samson - Wake Up Call (Mustard Pimp Remix) by mustard pimp

Hey kids it's Borgore! Doing what we expect of him, making some fucking filthy shit. It has been a while, but he made a new remix. It's for a band called Asking Alexandria. It isn't released yet, and the only thing we can give you is a 1.35 min preview posted on youtube. But I'm really into it, can't wait until it gets released.

Wrap up # 8

It's been a decent time since the latest installment in this series, but due to all the christmas gifts I get thrown from everywhere, I have a bunch of tracks that really need some attention.

I'll start with a new bootleg from Horse, a guy from Australia, known throughout the galaxy for his insane mash-ups. Now he has taken one of my favorite tracks of all time, Divine Gosa from Radioclit, to the remix-table. The thing with my favorite tracks is that it's really hard to make something that may proudly stand next to the original...
But this one did, although it might be a little more heavy for my taste!

Figure was one of the guys that I loved in the starting days from the blog, but I somehow lost track of him somewhere... Searching through the web I found this massive bootleg for hip-hop collective NWA, which is so heavy I almost fell of my chair, got blown out of my room and landed in a big black hole!
Almost, otherwise I wouldn't sit here writing...

Mr. Magnetik was so kind to share a gift with us, it's a piece of acid that sticks in your brain and stays there until all body functions except your movement are completely eroded.
"Why not the movement?" I can almost SMELL you thinking that! The answer is quite obvious though - you have to dance!

Moore & Lezz will be dropping a very special treat for you, ratrabbits readers, real soon, but in the meantime I have their fresh remix for L&M Bros' "Wario Must Die". They weren't one of the winners of the remix competition though, the boys from L&M had so much trust in their remixing capacities that they asked them to make one.

Doc Trashz is also throwing out presents to everyone who is willing to catch them, and I bet that you will definitely want to catch this one! The buzz around the Tron movie has finally stopped rising, now that it's finally released - but you might want to keep surfing on that hype after you heard this thing!

Dj Antention is quickly becoming the new face of the Russian electro scene, now that the Proxy is working (or at least I hope he is) on his album. His "Ivan" track was already remixed by X-ettl, and now it's also been remixed by Vecho! Dj Antention particulary liked this remix, and apparently the guys from Tuff em up records in Australia liked it too, because they're releasing it! Support the 2 young belgian lads from Vecho by joining their fanpage!

Ok, I think this is finally it...
Post done...
Oh no, what's this? A new Catastrophe Mixtape by Mustard Pimp?!?

I don't think I have to doubt about posting it, especially because their new collaboration with Blatta & Inesha is in there... Love, love, love!

Catastrophe vol.2 - Mustard Pimp

I'm back with a mixtape from Mustard Pimp. And if it comes to mixtapes, they are like the master of mixtapes. They started of this year with the Catastrophe Mixtape Series. If you listened the first one, you have to listen the second one too cause it's even better!

Mad Paper Haezer

Mustard Pimp made this psychedelic video for their "Paper" track in collaboration with Arno Coenen, a dutch multimedia artist from the Netherlands. Looks like a pretty funny bad trip to me! If you want to start guessing which collabo's will be featured on their album, go and have a look at their facebook fanpage. I'm already all excited about it!

Haezer made a pretty sweet track to honour the king of all secret agents (James Bond of course). It already gained support from Pance Party, Trashing Teenagers, Tom Deluxx and other ratrabbit favourites. You'd be mad if you let this freebee slip through your finger! James Bond Motherfucker!

Haezer - James Bond (320 kbps)

F2u just keeps on progressing, just like the other guys with a 2 in their name, P2t. The track can best be described as some decent electro pumps anal infected with a banana, and the video... Well, I think the video is pretty funny, and the images fits nice with the music. Using a couple of video's that fall under the "so bad that it's funny" category worked perfectly this time!

Wrap up # 4

It's again more then a week ago since I've posted something here - I guess time flies when you have to learn for your exams. Anyway, I found some real nice stuff on the blogosphere and in our inbox, and by nice I mean: music that you can party at even when you're doing the dishes (God knows how many times I've did it).

I'll start with a fresh remix from Harvard Bass, the dude who left Harvard to get his dj career started (too bad Leuven Bass sounds so shitty, or I could follow the same path). I think he made the right choice, there's enough time to study when you're tired of the dj'ing. And it's some damn nice pocket money too! But let's get back to the point, the remix we're talking about here is one for Felix Cartal's "World Class Driver". It's sticky, heavy and with a few scary vocals, what else do you need?

Felix Cartal - World Class Driver (Harvard Bass remix) 192 Kbps

Up next is a new Ep from Figure, which is always something that makes me walk around with a big smile on my face for the rest of the day. The atmoshpere is rather grim in this batch of tunes, the title makes it clear already: it's about torture muthafucka! Lot of cool vocals in this one, and the whole Ep contains remixes from Hostage, Udachi and Noise Floor Crew and a b-side called "Bitches". My favourite picks are the original and the Udachi remix, the first one is available for your listening pleasure for free below, for the second track you will have to pay a visit to Beatport.

Figure - Torture

A mixtape from my favourite whore bosses Mustard Pimp is always worth to share, especially since it's been such a long time since I've posted one. This is the first installment in a new series, the Catastrophe mixtapes. They promise to bring more of them during the coming year, let's hope they keep that promise! Their album is about to drop at the beginning of 2011, I'm already psyched!

Mustard Pimp - Catastrophe Mixtape Series Vol 1 by mustard pimp

And before've even had time to notice, you have ended up at the last part of this post already! "Oooooh no", I hear you scream, "I want more!". OK THEN, (spoilt bastards) here's another banging tune, from the master of sticky, silly, happy songs: Sticky K! He remixed Maru from Pance Party, and he definitely gave it his trademark. Enjoy!

Pance Party - Maru (Sticky K remix)
(thanks to gottadancedirty, not only for this one, but for being such an awesome blog in general!)

BacteriEEAA

Mustard Pimp has finally released their Schinichi Osawa remix, to give a little bit of extra promotion for their "Rock Paper Scissors" Ep, which is coming out the 15th of june on Beatport. The 29th it's available everywhere, in the meantime, ejnoy this one!

Shinichi Osawa - EEAA (Mustard Pimp Remix) by mustard pimp

Sawgood made a brand new mixtape, called "the bacteria mix part 1". It starts real dark and heavy, and gradually gets a bit lighter, with some dubstep and drum & bass parts. A perfect mixtape to lower the pressure caused by fuckin' exams!

Sawgood - The Bacteria Mixt (Part 1) by Sawgood

With every mixtape that features "Pet Massage" from Blatta & Inesha, I want that track a bit more... One of their best tracks ever!

Wrap Up # 1

Ok, from now on, you can expect these kind of posts after a few days without new stuff on our page, or just when I feel like doing one. I will throw in lots of info and songs, who don't have any relation to each other, except that they're all banging!

We'll start with Designer Drugs "Riot/Drop down" Ep. The original Ep was released in October last year, and now they are going to release a remix Ep. Stereoheroes and Mustard Pimp were called to remix-duty, and the results can be previewed below. I am really liking the Stereoheroes remix, the drop at 1.13 minutes is just insane!

Designer Drugs - Riot (StereoHeroes Remix) by stereoheroes

Designer Drugs - riot (Mustard Pimp remix) (preview)

We informed you earlier about Dj Mehdi and Riton's new project, called Carte Blanche. Their debut Ep will be released on Ed Bangers, and we were able to get our hands on a copy of "Gare Du Nord". Which is truly a prime-time banger, but judge for yourself!

Carte Blanche - Gare Du Nord

Beat & Bang are following the right path in their productions, this vid is even a bit "Russian-style". Proxy himself would surely like it!

Beat & Bang - Hunger! from Beat & Bang on Vimeo.

Now some love for Blatta & Inesha, they never seem to amaze me. This one is actually quite old, but because it's so good, I can't resist posting it.

Mightyfools - Hoo Haa (Blatta & Inesha remix) (128 kbps)

And to end this post, one interesting fact: did you know that the "woop woop" vocals in warp 1.9, weren't sung by Steve Aoki? That's right, you believed that for almost a year, and if it wasn't for me, you would still be living in this misbelief. They are actually sung by A girl and a gun, if you listen carefully you can recognise her voice.

Kasual Cocktail has a brand new site, check it here!

Sun and moon, come with me...

Keatch, Belgian gladiator who's signed on Boys Noize records, has teamed up with Felix Cartal (Dim Mak). I bet that only those 2 names in one sentence make your electro hormones go wild, and let me tell you something: you have the right to become horny!

This track is "Solar", from their upcoming Ep. Played by Geht's Noch at Mano Mundo in Boom, Belgium. They have found a label (still unknown which one) for this release, and they have 2 other tracks in their sleeve where they are still looking for someone to release it. The other track on the first Ep is called "Lunar". Check it below.

Other hot news: Boys Noize will release a remix Ep for "Kontact Me", with rmx's from Rynecologist, Housemeister, Jan Driver, Depressed Buttons and Beataucue. The one that I'm looking forward to the most is the "Rynecologist turbine mix", and the best thing of it?
This rmx will be given away for free on the Boys Noize Blog! We'll keep you posted!

Bonus:

Mustard Pimp's giving away their "Scapegoat" remix for Kylesa for free. Stay tuned with us for their "EEAA" rmx, they will also give it away in exchange for 0,00 €, to promote their upcoming "Rock, Paper, Scissors" Ep on Dim Mak. And there might even be an album in the pipeline???

Mixtapes for the win

Oh my god! It has been an awful long time since we shared a new mixtape with you...
Maybe it's not such a bad thing, after all, you need time to listen to it! We were sometimes sharing to much of them for you guys to listen to them all...
But why do I like mixtapes so much than? A whole bunch of reasons, such as:
-You can hear what a dj will most likely play when you see him in a club or festival
-It's a manner of staying in the spotlights when you don't have new tracks (or just don't have tracks yet) as a producer
-It's fun to listen to, and you might get some dj'ing hints from them
-Producers can include their upcoming hits, so that people get a sneak preview of them, without having to worry that the piece gets ripped out of its context (and in the rare occasion that it is done, well... let those peeps who did it enjoy it! They are not hurting you by doing this)
-Experiments, like minimixes (where you can showcase your fast mixing skills) or megamixes (Jack Bauer mixtape from Mustard Pimp as an extreme example) are always welcome!

Regardless of those advantages, to much is to much... listening to mixtapes as a blogger takes a big bite out of your "music checking" time, so that's the reason why tracks are a much better way to start a career (Gtronic anyone?).
But today, I have 2 tapes for you that you will definitely dig!
The first one is from my mates the Beatbouncers, a name that's new to this blog, but certainly not to the Belgian scene. They haven't pumped out anything that we could post until now, so this banging mixtape is a good start for those who have never heard of them.
Blocking the sun for sure!

Sunblock Mixtape by Beatbouncers

The second one is a new from the pimps, for their friends Blatta & Inesha. Mustard Pimp has included a lot of unknown (and unreleased) songs from producers that we here at Ratrabbits dig very much, along with some of their own upcoming bangers. The ones that we knew already, were some of the best tunes from the past month. Towards the end, it gets a little special, with a hardcore track and a french singer/songwriter tune. Great mix, and it's only 30 minutes long!

Revenge of the robots

The Pimps sent us their latest remix, it's a remix for reggae/electro/hiphop group South Rakkas Crew. It has that typical Mustard Pimp feeling, violence mixed with a silly touch. This kind of songs has been pushing their career for a solid 2 years already, and this song is no different. It's already in their sets and mixtapes for quite a while, the first time I heard it was in their awesome Jack Bauer mixtape (which was a solid 24 hours long).

I am the pope of dope!

My excuses for the 3 days without a single post, but I had a very busy, very nice weekend full of parties and family stuff. But now I'm back with a shitload of electro bangers, I'm sure you will enjoy them!

Almost a full year after the release of the original "Cherry/Kiwi"-EP, Mustard Pimp comes out with a new Ep, full of remixes. The dopeness comes from some ratrabbit-favorites, Blatta & Inesha, Gtronic, Ikki, Chewy Chocolate Cookies,... None of these tracks will leave you behind disappointed, but my favorites are the Gtronic, Blatta & Inesha and Gigi Barocco remix. Naughtiness everywhere! Buy the whole damn thing on Beatport!

1. Cherry ft. Kali (Chewy Chocolate Cookies Remix)
2. Cherry ft. Kali (Blatta & Inesha Remix)
3. Cherry ft. Kali (Taku Takahashi Remix)
4. Cherry ft. Kali (Rayflash Remix)
5. Cherry ft. Kali (Ikki Remix)
6. Cherry ft. Kali (Ajapai Remix)
7. Kiwi (Gtronic 'Big Bass' Remix) Gtronic's "Just another Bass mix" (not the official rmx, but it doesn't sounds very different)
8. Kiwi (Gigi Barocco Remix)
9. Kiwi (Booty Bronx Remix)

"I am the pope of dope, I am from Wallifornia. Dirty sound from Belgium, WOA, WOA!"
The Subs teamed up with the Partyharders squad to make the track "Pope of Dope". Let me tell you that the outcome is even better than the title of the track. Some silly vocals usually do the trick, and if they are boosted by a phat bass, nothing can go wrong anymore! BOOM!

Party Harders vs The Subs - The Pope Of Dope (LL27 preview) by lektroluvrecords

The Australian duo The Aston Shuffle released their new Ep "I wanna see you" last friday, and it contains 3 banging remixes, from which I will share to you the most banging ones: Harvard Bass and Malente. Dancefloor burning shit, what else could you expect from our hero Victor Ramos (Aka Harvard Bass)? The one from Malente might even be better, nice build-ups, breakdowns and everything in between. Mjammjam!

The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you
The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you (Harvard Bass rmx) (removed on request)
The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you (Malente remix) (removed on request)
The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you (DCUP rmx)

Bonus:
And there's even a bonus track, highly recommended!
Good old Blatta & Inesha never disappoint me, 2 remixes from them in the same post: dopeness like only the pope can do!

Paris burning in a hellfire

Ado!'s star is rising real fast. Ever since Fake Blood started playing his "plugged" track, people all around the world have discovered his noisy, distorted, high pitching tracks. One could say that they all sound a bit alike, but a real noise lover doesn’t give a fuck about that. His latest earcrusher, “hellfire”has been uploaded on youtube yesterday. I wonder where the dude who uploads them keeps on having his hands on them so fast. I haven’t been able to find them anywhere else, so I’ll just share the youtube link.

Burn Paris Burn is a new mixtape project, started by Mustard Pimp (to celebrate their second anniversary) and their booking agency WKA. In the future, other artists will make mixtapes for it, even artists who aren’t on the WKA agency. This first installment surely gets his goal done, it burned my room already. I’m pretty sure Paris will go down real soon! The next mixtape will be available for you next month already.

Natsuko

When I talk about Belgian producers, this were always Flemish (part of Belgium that speaks Dutch) guys. This might let you think that Wallonie (the French part) doesn't have talented young dj/producers, but I will show you that this is not the case!

Natsuko?

"Two handsome guy’s who came from the south of Belgium. Armed with decks and love of music. With the only purpose of shaking people’s ass… and well… it works pretty well."

To show you what it looks like; here's a taste trom one of their dj-sets.

Their rep grew fast (they started in march 2008), and as an icing on the cake, they won the Belgian contest for Soulwaxmas '09. So they opened one of the biggest events during winter in Belgium, and they only started a year and a half before.
That's pretty sick if you ask me!

Here are some tunes which have been released on Level 75, and other labels. "Glow in the Dark" was released in the "Bangers compilation" of Level 75, amongside big guns such as Djedjotronic, Popof, Keatch,...

Natsuko - Glow in the dark
Natsuko - My car is bad
Natsuko - White hat

Some of their tracks remind me a bit of Electro-rockers Goose, but then a little bit more distorted... Well, just give these songs a listen and make up your own mind!

And now I have some songs who have been on repeat on my Ipod for the last few days, but I couldn't find some other new stuff by the artists. These tracks are a bit more "fidgetty" then the stuff I posted lately, but they all have the power to destroy...

Donald Glaude - Teed off (Calvertron remix)
A1 bassline - Bad Man Horror Theme (Mustard Pimp rmx)
Tenkah - Stalingrad (Ikki rmx)

Enjoy!

Jack Bauer mixtape

Mustard Pimp. They're just crazy. In september they made a 12-hour mixtape, the Hercules mixtape. This time they proved that they don't need sleep at all, by putting together this crazy-ass 24-hour "Jack Bauer-mixtape". Every hour they recorded tunes from another genre, ranging from electro, dubstep, drum&bass, to hip-hop and metal. Tracklist can be found here, at gethypedonthis.

Download Jack Bauer mixtape (mediafire folder)

Bobberman's awesome remix of Mitsubitchi, it's a short edit though.

The Subs - Mitsubitchi (Bobermann remix)

Nic Sarno hasn't been featured on this blog, but he has made some very, very cool tracks. His remake of Eurostarr hasn't been played by ton's of dj's, and I have to say I can't come up with a reason why nobody did (except for the Crookers, they played it in their I love techno compilation). This is a banger in the true sense of the word, capable of turning a dead dancefloor into a sick party in a few sec's.

Have you been a good boy???

Tomorrow (6 december, St. Nicholas' bithday), all the well-behaved kids get their annual deal of candy and toys, but since you guys have been so nasty (downloading all those songs whithout paying, you should be ashamed!), you get absolutely nothing! So, no toys, no candy, no chocolate,...
Nah, just joking! and to prove it, I've got this for you:

WARP 1977 - BLOODY BEETROOTS XMAS VENDETTA: SPARES OF ROMBORAMA OUT ON DECEMBER 8! from An Overdose Of Awesomeness on Vimeo.

Bobermann (probably better known to you guys as Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo from the Bloody Beetroots) remixed the Bloody Beetroots song "warp 1.9". I see you thinking: he remixed a song from his own? Yes he did, but this time Tommy Tea (other half of Bloody Beetroots) has nothing to do with it. The song will be released on "Christmas Vendetta, Spares of Romborama", coming out 8th of december.

Steve Aoki & Bobermann - Warp 1977

Mustard pimp had the honour to make the next "Oh my god it's techno music!" mixtape (number 19 already). Other famous dj's who made a mix for this project are: Blatta&Inesha, Dirty Disco Youth, Sound of Stereo, Mightyfools, Malente,... Quality guaranteed!
