Post it real... slow.

Hey beloved readers of this little blog,

It has been a really long time since I posted some stuff here, but that's apparently not something to worry about. The reinforced ratrabbits blog team is doing a pretty good job, so a bit of laziness from the chief isn't such a big deal anymore.

But anyway, here are a few songs and video's that I digged, hope you'll like em :)!

We start with the clip for Felix Cartal's newest single "World Class Driver". Musically, I like the Harvard Bass remix more (it just sounds so nasty on a big system), but the clip for the original is so fucked up and weird that you'll start to rethink your opinion about it.

Granny's partying like a bunch of coma boozing 16 year olds?
Yes sir! I won't waste any more words about this peace of art, just see for yourself :)!

Next, we have a few releases from BMKLTSCH records, and as always: the quality is exceptional, with a wide array of styles, ranging from electro hip-hop to big basses and grinding synths.

The first release I want to put in the spotlights here, is one from Skip & Die, the "Muti Murder" EP. The track that caught the trophy for "best track of the ep" is the Starski remix, it has a great build up, and a sound that in one way or another makes me long for the festival season...
If you're a fan of electro hip-hop, you should definitely check out "Get your braai on", it reminded me of the party it was when Buraka Som Sistema played at the festivals...

Buy the whole EP here, prelisten here!

I said something about heavy basses a few lines back, and I wasn't lying... The Oddword has remixed Electrophants' Sledgehammer, and as expected, it's a heavy bass monster.

The original Neckbreakah from the boys from Tilburg charmed me as well, the nervous, aggresive vocals make me want to throw myself into a violent moshpit, and dance untill...
well, untill I broke my f*cking neck!

Buy the whole EP on the 20th of february when it comes out, prelisten here!

To end this post, I will give you a new track by P2T, called "psychedelic night". It's dark, a bit frightening stuff, which leaves you behind totally distracted, wondering what just happened...

Freak Slaughter, Gorillas On Drums and The Oddword

Is it just me, or do the these epic trashy EP's just keep coming? We received an email from Trash De Disco records 2 days ago with a kind request to promote the new EP from Freak Slaughter, so that's what I'll do. It's a dark and trashy EP with remixes by SNOB Electro Sounds , Noize Invaderz and more. I'm not going to choose a favorite, just because I like them all.

Tracklist:
1. Bang The Corpse(Original)
2. Bang The Corpse (KRFTDKS Remix)
3. Bang The Corpse (L' Amère Conspiration Remix)
4. Bang The Corpse (SNOB Electro Sounds Remix)
5. Bang The Corpse (Noize Invaderz Remix)

Freak Slaughter - Bang The Corpse Preview by Trash de Disco Records

Recognize this gorilla? It's the gorilla of Gorillas On Drums! I posted one of their songs a while ago and now their back to deliver us another banging tune. It's a remix for a DJ-duo called YESYESYO!. The original is okay, but way to calm for Ratrabbits...

YESYESYO! - Posse (Gorillas On Drums Remix) by Gorillas On Drums

Yes I know, we have allready done a post about the Wrath Of God EP. But now The Oddword uploaded the full version of their remix on soundcloud and I didn't wanted you guys to miss that. In my opinion the most new/fresh sounding remix on the EP.

They have made a new EP called Wrath of God. The EP is amazingly good! Remixes by: Trumpdisco, The Oddword, F.O.O.L, Owl Vision and Wonkap!!! OMG!!

OW! OW! OW!

The friendly dudes from The Oddword got some early support here, but it's been a really long time since I featured them in a post. I hope this post makes up for that!

After their smashing live-sets and cool original tracks, the boys also showed themselves to be prime quality remixers this year. The pope of dope and Jump from Dj Antention were the first remixes that got us all jumping and screaming, but recently they've made some new ones... And they might be even better than the ones I mentioned before!!! "Heavy" from Soda & Suds was a track that I liked a lot, but The Oddword remix really gave it a fresh approach. They just did what they always do: heavy basses, a ravey feeling, and last but not least: an overall approach that makes you want to jump around, scream, punch your mother because she doesn't stop complaining that you party too much.
Exactly the thing an electro track should do if you ask me!

Soda & Suds - Heavy (The Oddword Remix) by The OddWord

I basically got the same stuff to tell about the second remix I'll be giving you, "Fuck You" from Distrakt. This made me yell FUCK YOU! to everyone who wanted to hear it today, I guess I'll need some time to make new friends again...
Not that the track isn't worth it, pretty fair deal if you ask me!

Dope is free!

When I see a videoclip for a hiphop artist popping up on 3 out of 15 of the electro blogs I check daily, it has to be something good...
It doesn't happen much that I'm completely overwhelmed by a videoclip, but I bet you will be too when you watch this. Gingers are the new Jews, and this vid shows the exctinction of some of them.
Hard emotional stuff, that's for sure... Cheers to M.I.A. and Romain Gavras (director of the clip for Justice's stress and their "A cross the universe" tour dvd)!

M.I.A, Born Free from ROMAIN-GAVRAS on Vimeo.

After all the scandals from priests and other clergyman, the last thing the catholic church needed was another major problem... But apparently another Pope popped up!
The Pope of Dope by the Subs feat Partyharders was released yesterday on a bunch of online music stores like Beatport and Itunes. I suggest you buy the whole package, or at least the original and the Oddword remix.
I am personally digging the Oddword remix more than the original, but you are of course free to make your own pick!

The Oddword will also release one of their best tracks ever "No Machine" on Crux Records the 11th of may. Might even be better than their the Pope of Dope rmx...
Anyway, you better keep an eye out for these dudes, we haven't seen the last of them! This is a promovid for a party on the 6th of may, Ears off in Antwerp. The track used is No Machine, enjoy!

Electro beats taking over Metal tracks

I never loved metal, to be honest: I couldn't even listen to it! But since today, I think I have to change my mind. I just found a remix of a "Slipknot" track, and it sounds pretty good. Thanks to BELZEBASS for making this one!

If you like it the hard way, check out their other tracks:

And.. hey.. WAKE UP! This is not the first electro remix of a metal track that can make the crowd go crazy. If you're a fan of our blog, you defenitely should know Gtronic and The Oddword. They also made a remix of a metal track; System of a down - Chop Suey (The Oddword ft. Gtronic)

Well, if all remixes of metal tracks can be such destroyers, goodbye fidget!

From every mountain side: let Belgian electronic music ring.

With this post I would like to introduce some Belgian producers which, in my opinion, haven't got yet the attention they deserve. Let's hope my little literary masterpiece will spread their word a bit!

First up is the 19 years old DJ/producer Jens De Kettelaere. Being one third of the Belgian electro/trash trio "Aerotronic", he also has a solo side project "X-Ettl".

After winning an internet competition X-Ettl had the honor to perform at Belgium's biggest electro festival "I Love Techno". Things haven't stopped growing and soon he will release his first solo EP on the german label "Dusted Decks". (Next to Fukkk Offf, Aniki, Saint Pauli,...)

The Ep, called "Jetgum" will include 4 tracks:

X-ettl - Jetgum
X-ettl - Ngin
X-ettl - Stride
X-ettl - Deadc4t

Because he wants to protect these tracks until their release, he is not sending them into the blog world, but you can hear some previews in this minimix.

X-ettl 30 min mixtape by X-ettl

X-Ettl has sent us another track he made in cooporation with the Belgian MC "Tizzi" (formerly known as Toastaz) . Mjammmie.

X-Ettl Feat. Tizzi - Sticks 'N Stones

The fourth of April he will be sharing decks with Busy P and Mr. Oizo at Liquid Sunday in Germany.

Bonus: Aerotronic - Helicopter

The next artist "Modek", Willem Claesen, has already made several huge originals and remixes. (formerly known as Mellow)

As "Mellow" he released his first EP, called, ... yes, Mellow. (Monkey See Monkey Do) Later on he released his Kamikaze EP (Buy) on Keatchen Records and in the future he will release his Hiroshima EP (Monkey see Monkey Do) and his Mumps EP (Kiez Beats)

I love his sound, because it is that extraordinary hard and trashy. His tracks should really hit more dancefloors.

Difficult to choose which tracks I would share with my fellow Ratrabbits, but here they are.

Modek - Kamikaze (Kamikaze EP)

Modek - Copperhead (Kamikaze EP)

Modek - Hoax (Kamikaze EP (Set Rip))

Modek - Hiroshima (Hiroshima EP)

Modek - Omnivore
(Hiroshima EP)

(5 tracks, still too hard to choose, but please buy the tracks if you like them.)

The last artist I am presenting, Vincent Pauwels, better known as VNNR and 26 years old, is also making his way to the top.

His remixes are dropped by artists such as Mr. Oizo, Busy P, Felix Da Housecat, and Don Rimini. (So I asked myself: who isn't supporting him?)

At the moment VNNR is working on a remix for Aerotronic, while an Aerotronic remix will feature on Modek's Mumps EP. The Belgian "harder" electro scene, seems to be one happy family.

I am posting two of his best remixes, not hard to find on the web, not fresh, but in my opinion they haven't got a really decent post somewhere.

Depuis 91 - Erotiq (VNNR Shake The Room Remix)

Somebody's Going Down Tonight - Duckkk (VNNR Remix)

Coming up is, as I said, his remix for Aerotronic, but also a remix for The Oddword's "Kortelas".

You can hear the preview in this video:

So, until here my little word of Belgian chauvinism. Of course I can continue my story and tease your ears once more with other Belgian artists, but my fingers tell me to keep that for an other episode.

I hope it got your attention.

Enjoy the tracks and support the artists!

Bonus:

I already said something about Proxy founding his own label, well, he finished his plan: http://makorecords.com/. Check it out guys.

Calvertron!

Calvertron is a guy from the UK, with an impressive amount of productions so far. He has released stuff on Pottymouth, Legacy Kids club,... and on his own label "Jack Knife records". His sound is wobbly and bobbly, perfect stuff for in a club.

Calvertron - Doo doo (this one sample's the classic "Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega and Badman sound by Hostage)
The Prodigy - Thunder (Calvertron remix)
Chaka Khan - Feel for you (Calvertron remix)

We had to delete the download links, because someone didn't wanted us to share em. Sorry guys!

The Subs edited Boys Noize's "I love Techno - Anthem" "Nott", they didn't changed a lot in it, but I'm digging it enough to share it.

Boys Noize - Nott (the Subs vital edit)

Kill frenzy made this "Oizo-esque" track "54321", and it's a killer! If anyone can tell me what the name is of the original, I would be very thankfull.

Kill Frenzy - 54321

The Oddword made this track a whole wile ago, but for a stupid reason, I never was able to find it. I did now, so enjoy their best track so far (in my opinion). I recommend setting the volume at it's maximum for this one!

Belgian pride!

The Disco Villains! I remember hearing their "we are your friends" remix for the first time like it was yesterday. Their typical sound would never get out of my head again, thanx to other great remixes they made for 50 cent, Ace of Base, Technotronic, N.E.R.D.,... And now they refixed a song for one of Belgiums new big dj-duo, Soda 'n' Suds. Their "Fuck House" ep has been featured some days ago on this blog, if you didn't got your hands on it, go do it right now! The Disco Villains remixed their "we do it again" track, download here:

Buy the ep on beatport

The Oddword (Antwerp based duo from Belgium)is saying hello to the new decade with their latest track, called "hello goodbye". The videoclip is showing some black people dancing real cool, wish I could dance like them! The original is a song by Jeanette, called porque te vas. This is no straight-forward electro, it has a lot of funk influences, but I'm still loving it! Give em some love when you catch them playing somewhere!

Back Once Again With The A-Town Masters

Belgium's (City of Antwerp) most friendly Dj duo "The Oddword" has sent us their new track called "Power People". (The Oddword = Arbotique + YLL!)

The track samples the catchy remix Fatboy Slim did for "Wildchild's"
(= Roger McKenzie) track called "Renegade Master", which became really popular in the late nineties.

The Oddword made Fatboy Slims' remix harder, darker and more agitating but some parts of the track are still pretty funky.

That's what I like about The Oddword's remix.

That's what makes me willing to tear the roof off.

Enough said, find it out for yourself and also check their other tracks on their myspace:

The Oddword - Power People (320)

Tastes a lot better than candy canes!

BOEM!
