Because of a lack of time, today was the first time I heard The Subs' new album Decontrol. Too bad I didn't make time for it earlier, my mood would have been a lot better past days. Decontrol has a lot partybangers, what I didn't really expect actually (don't know why though). There's only one song I don't like, and that's Itch. All other rock! My favorite: Dry Lemon.
I hope this is the last time I have to apologise for the lack of freshness on this page, but normally there won't be any more holidays, exams, irritating parents, green monkeys and more anti-blogging stuff in the near future. So that means I can start posting on a regular basis again! I threw my other bloggers off, they weren't motivated anymore and I searched through my database of electro friends to find somebody who will replace them. Hopefully this means you people will get a lot more from us, I certainly hope that ratrabbits faces a bright future again!Enough emo peptalk, let's get to the tunes!
After a waiting period of several months (I have been hyping this from the very beginning, the 30th of march when it was played at WMC for the first time), Barbra Streisand is finally out! Some say it's underwhelming, others say it's overhyped, I say it's a summer-hit released in Autumn. Enjoy this tune my friends, because there aren't much tunes that give you that precious "Oh yeah, it's fucking summertime baby!"-feeling. Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand (original mix, 320 kbps) thanks to the Chemical Jump!
The P2t was one of the projects that we saw getting big thanks to our support (of course, without the right tunes and support from other blogs they wouldn't have got themselves anywhere), and now I am proud to say that their latest production is absolutely mindblowing. It uses some old rave samples, giving it some more punch for the dancefloor.
P2T - SNH
Edit: The P2t track is not available for download anymore, because there might be a chance that it gets released.
The Trash Mob is still alive and kicking, and because a lot of people probably already forgot who they are, I'll repeat it once more. It's a promo-project from a few young french guns like Krusty Proders, Valy Mo, Arcade Nights,... and it's incredibly hard! This time it's not just a file with songs from them, but an Ep from Valy Mo. The remixers are Krusty Proders, EightynineR and Arcade nights. My favourite tracks from the pack are the EightynineR rmx and the original Olivia, but it was a real tough choice to make. If you want to listen to all of them, download here.
That brings us to my latest song to spread to you guys, a fresh remix from Paco De Moor. At this time, it is likely that even your grandmother thinks that the Pope would better retire to smoke some more dope. Everything is better than helping pedophiles getting away with their crimes right? So I think it is time to pull this overplayed song a bit more into obscureness, with the Paco De Moor remix as secret weapon. As expected, it's harder, better, faster, stronger.
When I see a videoclip for a hiphop artist popping up on 3 out of 15 of the electro blogs I check daily, it has to be something good... It doesn't happen much that I'm completely overwhelmed by a videoclip, but I bet you will be too when you watch this. Gingers are the new Jews, and this vid shows the exctinction of some of them. Hard emotional stuff, that's for sure... Cheers to M.I.A. and Romain Gavras (director of the clip for Justice's stress and their "A cross the universe" tour dvd)!
After all the scandals from priests and other clergyman, the last thing the catholic church needed was another major problem... But apparently another Pope popped up! The Pope of Dope by the Subs feat Partyharders was released yesterday on a bunch of online music stores like Beatport and Itunes. I suggest you buy the whole package, or at least the original and the Oddword remix. I am personally digging the Oddword remix more than the original, but you are of course free to make your own pick!
The Oddword will also release one of their best tracks ever "No Machine" on Crux Records the 11th of may. Might even be better than their the Pope of Dope rmx... Anyway, you better keep an eye out for these dudes, we haven't seen the last of them! This is a promovid for a party on the 6th of may, Ears off in Antwerp. The track used is No Machine, enjoy!
My excuses for the 3 days without a single post, but I had a very busy, very nice weekend full of parties and family stuff. But now I'm back with a shitload of electro bangers, I'm sure you will enjoy them!
Almost a full year after the release of the original "Cherry/Kiwi"-EP, Mustard Pimp comes out with a new Ep, full of remixes. The dopeness comes from some ratrabbit-favorites, Blatta & Inesha, Gtronic, Ikki, Chewy Chocolate Cookies,... None of these tracks will leave you behind disappointed, but my favorites are the Gtronic, Blatta & Inesha and Gigi Barocco remix. Naughtiness everywhere! Buy the whole damn thing on Beatport!
1. Cherry ft. Kali (Chewy Chocolate Cookies Remix) 2. Cherry ft. Kali (Blatta & Inesha Remix) 3. Cherry ft. Kali (Taku Takahashi Remix) 4. Cherry ft. Kali (Rayflash Remix) 5. Cherry ft. Kali (Ikki Remix) 6. Cherry ft. Kali (Ajapai Remix) 7. Kiwi (Gtronic 'Big Bass' Remix) Gtronic's "Just another Bass mix" (not the official rmx, but it doesn't sounds very different) 8. Kiwi (Gigi Barocco Remix) 9. Kiwi (Booty Bronx Remix)
"I am the pope of dope, I am from Wallifornia. Dirty sound from Belgium, WOA, WOA!" The Subs teamed up with the Partyharders squad to make the track "Pope of Dope". Let me tell you that the outcome is even better than the title of the track. Some silly vocals usually do the trick, and if they are boosted by a phat bass, nothing can go wrong anymore! BOOM!
The Australian duo The Aston Shuffle released their new Ep "I wanna see you" last friday, and it contains 3 banging remixes, from which I will share to you the most banging ones: Harvard Bass and Malente. Dancefloor burning shit, what else could you expect from our hero Victor Ramos (Aka Harvard Bass)? The one from Malente might even be better, nice build-ups, breakdowns and everything in between. Mjammjam!
The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you (Harvard Bass rmx) (removed on request) The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you (Malente remix) (removed on request) The Aston Shuffle - I wanna see you (DCUP rmx)
Bonus: And there's even a bonus track, highly recommended! Good old Blatta & Inesha never disappoint me, 2 remixes from them in the same post: dopeness like only the pope can do!
Mustard Pimp. They're just crazy. In september they made a 12-hour mixtape, the Hercules mixtape. This time they proved that they don't need sleep at all, by putting together this crazy-ass 24-hour "Jack Bauer-mixtape". Every hour they recorded tunes from another genre, ranging from electro, dubstep, drum&bass, to hip-hop and metal. Tracklist can be found here, at gethypedonthis. Download Jack Bauer mixtape (mediafire folder)
Bobberman's awesome remix of Mitsubitchi, it's a short edit though.
Nic Sarno hasn't been featured on this blog, but he has made some very, very cool tracks. His remake of Eurostarr hasn't been played by ton's of dj's, and I have to say I can't come up with a reason why nobody did (except for the Crookers, they played it in their I love techno compilation). This is a banger in the true sense of the word, capable of turning a dead dancefloor into a sick party in a few sec's.
Nadisko is an australian Dj-duo, and they have been part of the trashbags (an Australian blog/party organiser) posse-dj's for 8 months already. They have produced a number of originals an remixes already, and know they want to share their latest remix for Veronica's Veil, "Fandeath. they also gave us their december mixtape, which is filled with first class trash and other bangin' tunes. Definitely worth a check!
1. Toxic Is Dead - The Toxic Avenger 2. Elvi$ - Felix Da Housecat (2manydjs Edit) 3. House N° 84 - The Bloody Beetroots 4. Plugged - Ado! 5. Disco Check - Nadisko 6. Valhalla (Mommas Boy Remix) - Hostage 7. Lightworks (Harvard Bass Remix) - Acid Girls 8. Make It Funky - Dj Alvaro 9. Computer Juice (DIM + Tai Remix) - Computer Juice 10. Turbo (Jokers of the Scene Remix) - Burns 11. Pompeii (Obi Blanche Remix) - Les Gillettes 12. Die (G Tronic Dub Dub Remix) - Toxic Avenger + Trash Yourself 13. Vampire Killah (Trumpdisco Remix) - Dj P.O.L. Style 14. Children - Strip Steve 15. Veronicas Veil (Nadsko Remix) - Fan Death
Calvertron is a guy from the UK, with an impressive amount of productions so far. He has released stuff on Pottymouth, Legacy Kids club,... and on his own label "Jack Knife records". His sound is wobbly and bobbly, perfect stuff for in a club.
Calvertron - Doo doo (this one sample's the classic "Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega and Badman sound by Hostage) The Prodigy - Thunder (Calvertron remix) Chaka Khan - Feel for you (Calvertron remix)
We had to delete the download links, because someone didn't wanted us to share em. Sorry guys!
The Subs edited Boys Noize's "I love Techno - Anthem" "Nott", they didn't changed a lot in it, but I'm digging it enough to share it.
Kill frenzy made this "Oizo-esque" track "54321", and it's a killer! If anyone can tell me what the name is of the original, I would be very thankfull.
The Oddword made this track a whole wile ago, but for a stupid reason, I never was able to find it. I did now, so enjoy their best track so far (in my opinion). I recommend setting the volume at it's maximum for this one!
I just stumbled upon this bunch of tracks and remixes, and I was immediately blown away by one of them. MITSUBITCHI!
The Subs. I don't like their live shows, but they produce such mindblowing tracks! I fell immediately in love with their latest track, and I'm absolutely sure you will too! I can't really tell what makes this song so incredibly awesome, you'll just have to listen to it yourself.
Oh yeah, I found some other stuff aswell, but everything sounded just so dull after "mitsubitchi", I'm not really enthousiastic about anything anymore. But anyway, here are some tracks from the "pre-mitsubitchi" era, if you ever grow tired of it, you can check those songs too. They're ok.
If you want to send us tracks, money, girls, booze, free entrance tickets for party's,... just contact us at: ratrabbitsblog@gmail.com. We will listen to it carefully and definitely post the stuff we like!
