F2U are two disturbed guys from Portugal who love to make innocent people jump and get mad with very loud and distorded bassline’s. I'm in love with all their tracks! Their just CRAZY! They have made massive remixes like a remix of Barbra Streisand, Rapid Fire Remix, Blast Remix, .... MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THEM ALL!

Another thing that I need to say is that my tests are beginning tomorrow so you will not see many posts from me the next couple of weeks.

I love techno 2010: the report, the live-sets

As you might have guessed from my previous post, I have been to I love techno. It was my third time already, and maybe that played a role in my appreciation of the event. I didn't thought it to be worth the 50 euro's, because so many acts disappointed my high expectations. The public wasn't as eclectic as the previous 2 years, I wondered why so many people pay so much for a ticket, when they're standing still all the time.

But let's cut the negativity, it wasn't all bad! Some dj's played a massive set, and there were some things that I didn't see that seemed to be cool as well.

Starting chronologically, the first dj that got me partying was Jack Beats. Those nasty wobbles jacked everybody's body, and I experienced the first moshpit of the event. We didn't stayed the whole set, when they started playing dubstep (stick to your style!) we left.

Playing at the yellow room at that moment were Les Petits Pilous, throwing a bunch of hard and bleepy electro songs into the crowd. The place were I was standing sucked, but if you listen to the set you will definitely have a good time.

After Les Petits Pilous, it was time for Boys Noize! I always have very high expectations for his sets, but actually he falls short of them for most of the time. Only once I experienced a smashing set from him, at Rock Werchter 2009. The set at ILT was way too techno for my tastes, but if you want to see for yourself, I linked a part of the live set for your pleasure.

2 setbacks, 1 partially good set... Time for something that I loved last year! A-trak played one of the best sets then, this year he was a bit less entertaining, but still good stuff compared to the previous acts. He dropped Barbra Streisand of course, but now I'm officially tired of it. No live set I'm afraid...

I do have a preview of the new Duck Sauce track though, to ease the pain. It doesn't stuns me like Barbra Streisand did when I first listened to it, but maybe I have to give it time to grow on me.

Next up in the schedule: making sure we are in the orange room before it's too crowded because everyone wants to see the beetroots! Only, we were an hour to early, Crookers had just started their set when we entered. With Crookers, I have a bit of a hate/love relationship. I really love their early work, but I'm a total hater of their new turn, which they showed at their album Tons of Friends.

So with every set, I have to see if it's one filled with oldies and hard new things, or one with the more hip-hop sounding new stuff. This time, I was lucky, it seemed like I was back in 2008, the period were the boys were at their absolute best. Second best thing of the whole night!

Crookers - Live @ I love techno 2010

After the Crookers came, as I said before, the Bloody Beetroots with their Deathcrew 77. This was the second time I saw it, and although it sounded exactly the same as the previous time, I found it absolutely boring this time (while the other set was mental). Maybe it sounded a bit too familiar compared to their set @ werchter. I don't know for sure if this whole set was prerecorded, but there are a lot of signs pointing in that direction. The boys don't even have to touch their guitar to get sound out of it - how "live" is that huh?

Apart from that, I didn't really liked the sound either, it was really too much the same. Build up, and then a lot of noise after the drop - that's basically it. I think I'll only go check them again if they're playing a dj-set.

When the deathcrew was gathering all their stuff, a familiar looking asian american got behind the booth. It was Dim Mak label boss Steve Aoki, who would play the best set of the whole evening. An almost perfect set, although I'm still not in love with his heavy metal intermezzo's. They are a bit his trademark, but I would still be happy if he just played plain old hard electro all the time. Nevertheless, an absolutely smashing set!

After Steve Aoki, we took a short break, and came back to the orange room to check out Sound of Stereo. They were a bit boring too, or at least not interesting enough to keep me partying. We didn't had a choice but too leave - all the other rooms were basically closed, only a few techno dj's were still playing.

Let's go Barbra!

The highly anticipated Ep from Dem Slackers is finally out on Bmkltsch records. I've got a permission to share the Bart B More "Oldskool" remix (there is also a "Lessgo" remix). Both remixes have basically the same build-up, but the drop is totally different. The "Oldskool" remix goes for the kids that still like to rave, while the "Lessgo" fits in with the more calm trends of today. Both remixes are cool, but I personally prefer the "Oldskool" remix. I'll always be a raver I guess... The original "Let's go" and the Peacetreaty remix are worth your well earned bucks too!

Dem Slackers - Let's Go (Bart B More Oldskool remix)

The second track of the Ep, Swagger (Ft. Dan Stezo), was mixed by Clouds and Evil Nine. I highly prefer the Clouds remix, because the typical hardness from the "we're so not funny that it gets funny" guys from Edinburgh always gets me excited. The original track is a piece of high quality distortion rave sounds, but for that, you will have to get your ass to beatport to buy the full Ep!

Now that even your dog knows what a damn catchy track Barbra Streisand from Duck sauce is, it's up to the remixers to rework it. The tricky thing about it is to surprise the crowds with a track that keeps the good things from the original intact, but also adds a personal touch. F2U tried, and nailed it for the full 100 %. Not everyone's piece of cake I guess, but this is a very nice, harder rework from one of the most hyped tracks of the year. Enjoy!

Wrap up # 5

I hope this is the last time I have to apologise for the lack of freshness on this page, but normally there won't be any more holidays, exams, irritating parents, green monkeys and more anti-blogging stuff in the near future. So that means I can start posting on a regular basis again! I threw my other bloggers off, they weren't motivated anymore and I searched through my database of electro friends to find somebody who will replace them. Hopefully this means you people will get a lot more from us, I certainly hope that ratrabbits faces a bright future again! Enough emo peptalk, let's get to the tunes!


After a waiting period of several months (I have been hyping this from the very beginning, the 30th of march when it was played at WMC for the first time), Barbra Streisand is finally out! Some say it's underwhelming, others say it's overhyped, I say it's a summer-hit released in Autumn. Enjoy this tune my friends, because there aren't much tunes that give you that precious "Oh yeah, it's fucking summertime baby!"-feeling.

The P2t was one of the projects that we saw getting big thanks to our support (of course, without the right tunes and support from other blogs they wouldn't have got themselves anywhere), and now I am proud to say that their latest production is absolutely mindblowing. It uses some old rave samples, giving it some more punch for the dancefloor.

The Trash Mob is still alive and kicking, and because a lot of people probably already forgot who they are, I'll repeat it once more. It's a promo-project from a few young french guns like Krusty Proders, Valy Mo, Arcade Nights,... and it's incredibly hard! At this time, it is likely that even your grandmother thinks that the Pope would better retire to smoke some more dope. Everything is better than helping pedophiles getting away with their crimes right? So I think it is time to pull this overplayed song a bit more into obscureness, with the Paco De Moor remix as secret weapon. As expected, it's harder, better, faster, stronger.

The hype around Barbra Streisand, the upcoming summerhit from Duck Sauce, is starting to become real huge. The original is still unreleased, and as far as I know there hasn't been pinned down an official release date, but the first remix has popped up already.

I definitely think that the original will be 10 times as big as this, but for those who can't wait for the original this is a good track to soften the waiting time. I wouldn't really call it a remix, it's more like a re-edit. But seriously: can anyone make something better out of this track without stripping it from it's summer feeling? I doubt it. Anyway, thanx to mr O-god for this piece of sugar, it got me jumping.

Our last topic on Mechanical Resistance dates from november already, but in that long absence, they prepared a banging remix for us (and for everyone else who likes a banging tune)! I can see this putting dancefloors on fire, banging basses just the way I like em. They have become more mature in their productions, always a good thing. I'm digging this more than the other tracks we've posted, this is less trashy, but with a real pounding bass underneath.

To stress the fact that the man is in the US and A, Turbo is releasing a remix Ep for his monster track "8000". The Sticky K rmx has definitely gotten his stamp, making the sounds a bit more "silly" (and I mean that in a good way). Banger! A little fidget touch, why not?

The Clouds remix is fucking hard, seems like the Proxy himself remixed it. I thought that a hard approach could only destroy what makes the original so good, but apparently I was wrong.

Duck Sauce, the collaboration between A-trak and Armand Van Helden, has played their first live-set ever at WMC the 25th of March. When they dropped this track (probably going to be called "Barbra Streisand", named after the famous diva), the crowd went nuts (as you've probably seen already). So I hope this is going to be released real soon on Fool's Gold, because it will set rooms on fire like nothing else will do this summer!
