The 80's feeling

This is post number 202 on this page, woohoow! I forgot to add it in my post about Kraken heart and Comic Strips, but I guess you guys didn't noticed it as well.
What excites me even more is my brand new traktor s4 (for those who don't know what it is: watch this), within a few months (or longer, we wait until we are fully assured of our qualities) we will be available for bookings...

Today I have 2 sweet vids for you, both awesome in their very own way... They have one thing in common: they revive that typical 80's feeling!

The first is a promo video for the new Mr. Magnetik Ep, called "Mario is under acid". It will be released on the 24th of December on G point muzik, but I will let Mr. Magnetik do the talking for the rest of the post.

It all started off as a pleasantry, and though here the banter has gone to an offset inspiration taking us through an acidulous pilgrimage. This is how Mr Magnetik got promoted to the rank of demiurge of a track incarnating a play resurgence straight from the 80's!

For the friendly joke to be complete, he sends the track to his best buddy: The G from the G Point Muzik label.

« Mario Is Under Acid » starts as a stage of « Super Mario Bros » and ends up just like it, blowing up into fireworks. We are already all aware that the journey will be epic and that Bowser or any Koopa Troopa will find themselves unarmed facing the percussive rhythm boxes introducing one horny Super Mario. Ultimately, the final score will be grazing the hands of Jean Nipon and Shameboy who are as well joining the game, and offer dirty remixes of the track, coming right up from some parallel dimensions.

Mr Magnetik is here keeping off any pompous torments, turns on the console and delivers you a crazy game, which will make you whirl like pixilated bricks. Insert a coin and don't let the game end, don't repulse your childish pleasures!

The second one is the official clip for Derezzed (for the upcoming Tron movie), featuring Daft Punk, lightbikes, Knights,... Why aren't you watching yet?

Here goes the hurry again

The hype about Daft Punk's comeback is getting extremely infectious, even Breakdown has fallen to the madness... Should we get worried (maybe I have to get worried, after being such a naive fool to believe that Daft Punk would play at I love Techno)?
NO! Of course not! Everything that results in good electro songs should be embraced!

Smart peeps have already figured out that this track will be one from Daft Punk and Breakdown, and the true masterminds might have linked it to the first track of the Tron Soundtrack, called Derezzed. If you are stupid and were absolutely clueless about what to expect, don't worry. The reward stays the same.
A banging electro candy, not to be missed by all the kids who ever want to be smart!

Valy Mo has received some attention from me a little while back, but this dude has more tricks in his sleeve than there are grains of sand in the desert. I can't find the words needed to describe the sound of this track (the fact that I'm in a hurry limits my creativity), the only thing I can say is that he did a great job. Ok go is a rock band from Chicago, who got famous because of their awesome videoclips. The one for this track is actually one of the best clips ever!

Lack of time = lack of creative descriptions for this one. It's awesome, just believe me.
Or, even better, don't believe me! Be critical and check the link below to get your mind blown! KrustyProders - BadGuy (ValyMo rmx) by ValyMo

This may be the first post ever where I promote something that a friend of mine made... I just don't want you to think that I post stuff just because friends made it, but this one is actually a very nice tune! Disko Kids, hailing from Leuven in Belgium (this track was made at 100 meters from my door) are proudly presenting their very first production.

It's a remix for Dem Slackers - Swagger, and they made it harder, more bleepy, more chaotic, more everything!

Could it be???

Hi folks! As a lot of you may now, tomorrow is I love techno, one of the biggest electronic festivals from Western - Europe (probably the world too). I wasn't too blown away by the line-up of this year, until a friend showed me this picture above. Doesn't that font type looks familiar?

Could it be....

DAFT PUNK!?

Before you start telling me that Daft Punk is dead - they recently made the soundtrack for the new Tron movie, and they did a surprise act at a show from Phoenix a few weeks ago. Check the vid below.

So... I really hope I'm not getting all hyped for nothing, I'll cry if it turns out to be something else! For those who want to get a ticket because they read this - it's sold out bitches!

From the piano, to the rave parties... Good boy!

Today he's only 19 years old, but it all started by playing the piano at the age of 5, and at the age of 15 he began composing music under the name"Dirty Disco Youth". In the meantime he also played the guitar bass and the drums.

So.. When he was 15, he went to an electro party and that is the reason he nowadays produces awesome tracks! These productions found and still find their way through the internet.

In 2007 (2 years later) he has played in London as headliner of one of the biggest warehouse parties, and at "New X Inn". No wonder he was called the new "Wunderkind" ;-)

In 2008 he released "The Kids want Maximal" through the internet, and he also made a remix of Outlander "Vamp". This last one, caused a lot of attention from big DJs and radio stations worldwide. He also did a few remixes...

Shall we skip 1 year?

Today, this man is working for Warner Music, has releases on Etage Noir, Street Beats, Kinetika, and owns a label called Dirty Disco Tracks. Not impressed yet? Well, on 2 febr 2010 he's gonna release "OFF" for ... DIM MAK!

Please, if a DJ drops this one, crash the party!

Talking about getting big in only 1 year? His tracks are supported by: The Bloody Beetroots, Steve Aoki, Gigi Barocco, Mustard Pimp, Fukkk Offf, Boys Noize, Fake Blood, Ed Banger DJs, Malente, ... and he did remixes for: The Bloody Beetroots, Deadmau5, Crookers, Faithless, Daft Punk, The Prodigy, Agnes Carlsson (Warner), Scanners (DIM MAK), Sharam Jey (King Kong), Fukkk Offf (Coco Machete), Leopold Gregori (Great Stuff), Streeflife DJs (Street Beats), Milke (Gulp) and many many more!

And what I like the most: He's doing his own thing, and he doesn't believe the fidget or the beetroots hype.
