Wrap up # 8

It's been a decent time since the latest installment in this series, but due to all the christmas gifts I get thrown from everywhere, I have a bunch of tracks that really need some attention.

I'll start with a new bootleg from Horse, a guy from Australia, known throughout the galaxy for his insane mash-ups. Now he has taken one of my favorite tracks of all time, Divine Gosa from Radioclit, to the remix-table. The thing with my favorite tracks is that it's really hard to make something that may proudly stand next to the original...
But this one did, although it might be a little more heavy for my taste!

Figure was one of the guys that I loved in the starting days from the blog, but I somehow lost track of him somewhere... Searching through the web I found this massive bootleg for hip-hop collective NWA, which is so heavy I almost fell of my chair, got blown out of my room and landed in a big black hole!
Almost, otherwise I wouldn't sit here writing...

Mr. Magnetik was so kind to share a gift with us, it's a piece of acid that sticks in your brain and stays there until all body functions except your movement are completely eroded.
"Why not the movement?" I can almost SMELL you thinking that! The answer is quite obvious though - you have to dance!

Moore & Lezz will be dropping a very special treat for you, ratrabbits readers, real soon, but in the meantime I have their fresh remix for L&M Bros' "Wario Must Die". They weren't one of the winners of the remix competition though, the boys from L&M had so much trust in their remixing capacities that they asked them to make one.

Doc Trashz is also throwing out presents to everyone who is willing to catch them, and I bet that you will definitely want to catch this one! The buzz around the Tron movie has finally stopped rising, now that it's finally released - but you might want to keep surfing on that hype after you heard this thing!

Dj Antention is quickly becoming the new face of the Russian electro scene, now that the Proxy is working (or at least I hope he is) on his album. His "Ivan" track was already remixed by X-ettl, and now it's also been remixed by Vecho! Dj Antention particulary liked this remix, and apparently the guys from Tuff em up records in Australia liked it too, because they're releasing it! Support the 2 young belgian lads from Vecho by joining their fanpage!

Ok, I think this is finally it...
Post done...
Oh no, what's this? A new Catastrophe Mixtape by Mustard Pimp?!?

I don't think I have to doubt about posting it, especially because their new collaboration with Blatta & Inesha is in there... Love, love, love!

Donkey Rape Horse

Donkey
Rape
Fish
sounds pretty weird isn't it? Well, the weirdo's who made this track must have thought: a dope track needs a dope name! This track comes out a free promo Ep from the duo Pickle & Banger, consisting out of Paco de Moor and Simon de Vos. Preview the whole Ep here, I am giving you my favourite, a 100 000 beats per minute track!

Pickle & Banger - Donkey Rape Fish

Promo EP by Pickle & Banger

I posted a mash-up from Horse some time ago, and I think that bangduck mash-up wasn't a lucky shot! The one that I'm sharing with you today samples parts of Hey from Laidback Luke & Diplo, Some chords from Deadmau5, A little part of Pon de Floor,... the list seems endless. I really liked the outcome, just like the bangduck mash-up this doesn't exactly sound as a mash-up, but more like a whole new track. Loving it!

Horse & Brooklyn Fire

Horse, a dj and producer duo who are living in New South Wales, Australia, has blasted my mind with their Bangduck mash-up. He uses samples from the original, bangkok, the afrojack remix for cool and the nujax remix for bangduck. He's 22 years old, and the guy is only dj'ing for one year, but he has already supported acts like Van She, Bag Raiders and in the next month, he has to support Acid Jacks and Jamie Fanatic.
The outcome is surprisingly good, normally I don't like to listen to mash-ups at home, it's only cool to hear it played out live in a club. This time, the mashed up parts gave me a feeling like I was meeting old friends again, and I suddenly realised that they were a lot cooler as a group. So I won't ever listen again to Bangkok, Bangduck and all the other songs aforementioned, I will just enjoy this unbelievable mash-up.

Afrojack - Bangduck (Horse's bootlegging duck mash)

Brooklyn Fire records (Tommie Sunshine is the label-boss) has officially started. I thought that it was in existence for some months already, but apparently Figure was just making a little promotion for the new label by putting "brooklyn fire" in his track ID's. Anyways, to get some attention, Mr. Sunshine asked some artists to make a remix for a track that they consider a classic. In his own words:
“When I thought about launching my new imprint, Brooklyn Fire and the impending WMC I thought the best way to cause a stink was to get the artists whom I dig and have them tear apart something they consider a “classic”. Enjoy these 20 works and I look forward to your support of Brooklyn Fire.”

The result? 20 quality remixes for some real oldies, with remixes by my favorite Figure, Mightyfools, Tommie Sunshine himself, Hostage, SonicC, Boris Dlugosh and loads of others. Definitely worth the 260 Mb of harddisk space that it will take! And oh yeah: It's for free and in 320 quality!
